If you are in the Evansville area, the 10-8 Cafe is the perfect place for a family dinner! #108Cafe #evansvilleindiana

UPDATE: 5/7/23 It is nice to have a business Listen to its customers feedback. The restaurant has improved in many ways. Cups are higher quality, knives and forks are no longer plastic. They are now using servers instead of self-serve. The pricing structure has changed on the menu as well as more food for your money. Things are improving greatly I’ll start by saying that the complex is very nice and they did a good job remodeling. My first experience here was for dinner, It did not go well. Everyone at the front seem to not know exactly what was going on. When I ordered my food, they messed up my order three times before I actually could pay. Once I got seated, I noticed that there is plastic cups and plastic silverware. Which for the price you pay here I don’t agree with After 45 minutes of waiting they finally come out and tell me they messed everything up and they were going to correct it and give me my food and give me a refund. They did make it right, the sandwich was a bacon, ham and cheese club and it was mediocre at best. Tried the Sunday brunch and it was an overall disappointing experience. Again I walk in everyone upfront doesn’t know what’s going on. Have to ask for a menu to even order. The menu was extremely small and overpriced. I paid $12 for French toast that’s two pieces of bread with some chocolate drizzle and syrup for $12. My total meal is $28 and I’ll include the photos of what we had and you can decide if you think it was worth $28. I think if I’m going to pay $28 for a biscuit with gravy two pieces of bread with chocolate and syrup I should probably not have to use plastic cups and plastic silverware. I’ll say the French toast was good but I’ll never pay $12 for that again. I think the restaurant side of this entire complex needs to be reevaluated. I hope to try again, and create a more positive experience review. But as of now, it’s a disappointing experience all around. I keep my reviews very honest and upfront with no biased opinions. I will give this place a few more shots in hopes to update this review.

Very nice place. You can tell the owner put alot of time and thinking ito planning out the site. Go shop at the shop before you eat your meal or maybe bring your .308 or smaller pistol or rifle and pop some rounds off in their range and grab a snack afterwards. The location is perfect! We started off with the fried pickle spears while we sampled the new and only local beer wall self poor taps. Know someone that needs a limit? Give them a card with $10 on it and it will shut off automatically 😀. Anyways, the food was great. I usually start out a new experience with a simple pick such as the MRE Burger. Basic burger with tons of char flavor. Straight crinkle fries to fill the platter. I did not get a picture of the burger due to being hungry but I assure you it was amazing. They also have wraps, pizza, baked potatoes, salmon, and lots more. Oh, did I mention they also had a gym? Get you a membership for access to the bourbon bar and cigar humidor lounge. Id say that would easily top off any night. Hurry and try this place out before you have to make reservations a week out!!

Good food but terrible service.

We went today and were not acknowledged or greeted at all. After several minutes, we were seated. There were only 3 tables of people in the restaurant. They weren’t busy. After many many more minutes, we did finally receive drinks. No straws until we saw the server another 10 minutes later to ask her. Ordered soda and coffee. The coffee took quite a while. We did finally ask to place a food order after probably 30 minutes went by.

The food was executed perfectly and exactly as ordered. It was really all delicious!

We weren’t offered refills and had to ask. It was hard to find the waitress at times. She did seem to be talking to people and on her phone often. After asking for a carry out box, we waited probably 5-10 more minutes until we received it. There’s a sign displayed that says to ask about desserts so we did ask what the desserts were. The waitress said “I honestly have no clue” and then asked if we were ready for the check. Definitely a missed opportunity- we would have ordered dessert. She didn’t seem to care and didn’t offer to find out what they were.

I’m writing this long post not to complain, but to point out why you’re probably not getting the business you could be getting. Our server was a young lady with dark hair. She was VERY polite. She just didn’t seem to have any urgency at all. I completely understand that servers get busy, but there were not many other customers in the restaurant during this time. We enjoyed our food and gave her a 20% tip. I don’t want to “bash” this place - I just want to let the owner know of the honest experience that my family had so hopefully the service can be improved.

Another piece of advice - I really think you should provide a paper check to the table. I took my family members out and when she asked if I was ready for the check, I said yes and she announced the total and waited for my card. Not a huge deal - but I would have preferred a paper check and not for the total amount to be announced to the table. This is probably just me being picky. Maybe just a personal preference.

This is my first visit in many months for this same reason - I’ve been here 4 times now and have never had a good service experience. Food is always good. Service is always really slow (not to get the food but just to get acknowledged, and to get refills, etc). I really really recommend either new staff or training the servers that you currently have. Again - the server was VERY polite. Just needs to work on paying attention to the table. And greeting people when they walk in - small things make a big difference. Sometimes you do have to ask for refills, and I get that, but it was constant and she wasn’t always available. I ate my meal with nothing to drink because I didn’t want to wait for her to show back up. Frustrating when you’re spending $80 for a meal. This is going to make people stop coming here and I’d hate that because the...

Probably should have read the negative reviews first and would have avoided having this experience. Staying at a hotel down the road after driving for the day with the family and was just looking for a quick bite to eat and this place was near and looked decent. 17 minutes wait which I didn't think was horrible for 7:55PM but only one party of two ahead of us waiting with a half the tables empty which was interesting. We sat and waited 10 minutes for someone to get our drink order. 10 minutes later for the waitress to come take the order. Ordered kids chicken tenders w/fries, 4 chicken tenders w/ fries, chicken wrap w/ fries and pretzel sticks. 30 minutes later, waitress comes back asking if we needed drinks refilled. I asked how much longer on the food and she said there were 5 tickets ahead of us still so 15-20 minutes. Coming up on an hour of waiting, I asked if we could just get it to go. My mistake as I should have checked before we Ieft the parking lot but as we unboxed at the hotel, there were no fries on any of the orders. No ranch. I mean every meal automatically comes with fries so I don't know how you box that up without deliberately doing so. Regardless 1 hour of waiting for 7 tenders and a pretzel app. I mean that's pretty embarrassing. I will say the server was nice and understanding and our experience was not a reflection of her job. They seem to have plenty of servers but I am guessing they stay in business catering to the folks paying $100 a month to shoot their toys in the back which we could not see in the restaurant. So for all I know they were busy on that side of the house and people in the front take second fiddle which is fine but you got to make people aware of that. Since they don't I hope I can save someone the aggravation that we had here. I hate giving 1 ⭐ reviews but they...
