Northstar Cafe LLC — Restaurant in Everett Township

I’m having a hard time rating this place because the food was good( noting special) but good. Unfortunately the service was terrible on 8/17/25. Walked in with a toddler and had no idea what to do. We were told after a few to find a seat. We pulled extra chairs from a table and a high chair and seated at the only clean table that could accommodate our party of 5. I don’t know if this place is a self serve but no placemats were provided, no silverware. The waitress finally arrived, I asked for water and the others for water and coffee. It arrived after a while, there was no water for me , she asked me if I want water . Huh? We had to ask for straws as none were provided. No one came to ask for coffee refills or if we want any cream or anything. There is sugar on the table but nothing else. My husband ordered #2i think) that was supposed to come with pancakes. When the food arrived, there were no pancakes and still no silverware. The lady who served the food( not the server) provided the silverware but no one asked if we want more coffee. My husband said something about the pancakes and the lady overheard us. She asked from the register if he wants his pancakes. I’m again, huh? Why ask if his order was supposed to come with it. So again the good was good but the service was awful. We felt so unwelcomed. So to the waitress who worked on the 17th, you ruined our morning as it was supposed to be a fun bday breakfast with our kids and grandson.

I went by the reviews and I regret it. Should have went to the other place. Maybe is a 5 stars...

This place is a steeple in my life. Remember when I was a kid and gram gram would take my brothers and I here for lunch after church every Sunday. Now all grown up, new ownership, i still find myself there for Breakfast on a regular. Memories, good food at great prices, pleasurable service always. And your local business thats always been around. Now having camp in the area I can take a quick ride over in the jeep and get some cornbeef and hash 😋 great area to explore Manistee National Forrest right across M-37. Be sure to grab a 37 burger after that kayak trip. Me? I'll get it before I go as ill need the calories to burn. 😆 busier these days. People finding out how great this...

My mom ordered the special, which was a fried steak and eggs. The fried steak looked frozen and thrown into a fryer. Was hard and processed. She sent it back. We both ended up with omelettes that weren't bad. But the ice water has a gross after taste. Well water maybe? The decor creeped me out as soon as we came in. Full of stuffed animals on the wall and a stuffed beaver in a glass case as soon as you come in. The place wasn't very clean. The vents on ceiling were filthy and I am glad we didn't sit under it.
