I have kind of a love/hate relationship with Effie’s. I love their pizza, but I am often disappointed by their failure to have items ready at or reasonably near the promised time. A case in point—this past Friday evening I submitted a fairly large order ($60+) using their superb online ordering feature. I placed the order at 5:23 pm, expecting that our food would be ready about 6 pm, based on the predicted preparation time of 25-30 minutes and my past experience of orders taking about 5-10 minutes longer than predicted. I monitored the progress of the order online and was shocked when the status of the order changed to “Ready” at 5:47 pm. I immediately got in my car and headed for the restaurant, which is only a 5-10 minute drive from our home. Not only was our food not ready when I got there, the order wasn’t ready until 6:25. Either the online “Ready” notification was generated as the result of an error by someone behind the counter or the notification is generated automatically by the software when the predicted wait time is reached. Whatever the reason for the big gap between the reported and actual time the order was ready, I was not happy, thus this less than...
Read moreBecause it's Exeter and there arent a ton of places for food. I have gotten food here way to many times. The menu has a great selection however, they almost always have gotten my orders wrong. Missing keys ingredients (no bacon or cheese on a bacon cheeseburger sub,no buffalo sauce on buffalo chicken wings) or really gross tasting (fried pickle chips that the batter completely fell off the pickles. They were very very greasy super salty hot pickles you're much better off at Tillys for those. I ordered cheesy fries well done so they would be crunchy the manager told me I didn't need them well done because of how they were prepared. Which was weird because just do what I asked please. And they were pretty soggy and tasted almost steamed. I could go on and on. It's sad because the place clearly has potential but seems really mismanaged and nothing seems to be prepared with any care. Ill go to the new deli (401) from now on i guess although some decent pizza/a place that delivers in the area...
Read moreI placed an online order to pick up 1 month ago, I put in that I would pick up one large pepperoni pizza for 6pm. The pizza was not ready until sometime past 630, and the staff seemed over worked but no excuse for how rude they were when I was inside waiting with my two small kids. I figured I would attempt it again today. I just picked up the pizza... I chose curbside pickup... I don't know how any of the workers are supposed to know I have arrived since there were no instructions on the website or in the parking lot. So I went inside to get my pizza. I asked the lady how to go about curbside for the future. I received a snarky response "I don't know. I'm new". It was not busy. So I don't know why she wouldn't ask a co worker. But I def did not want to engage with her any further. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be ordering from this...
