El Pueblito Restaurant Mexican American Grill — Restaurant in Fairfield Township

WOW!! Who would have thought that in the middle of a huge swath of farmland in Cedarville, there is a GEM of a Mexican-American restaurant?! We lost power so our cooking plans had to be cancelled, and we scrambled to come up with anything decent in the Bridgeton area. Looking through Google reviews, we found El Pueblito Restaurant had 4.5 stars - and they've earned every one of those stars. In fact, they should have a solid five. Here's what we ordered:

Chile Relleno con queso Boneless wings - two kinds Buffalo salad Seafood salad Cubano sandwich Chicken Parmesan with pasta Shrimp scampi pasta Fist and Golden Fries (think loaded fries with chicken, cheese, scallions, tomatoes)

Every single one of our entrees was perfectly cooked, came with ENORMOUS portions, was carefully packaged for takeout, and cashed out by a charming and competent pair of sisters.

Did I already mention the portions, though?? For the price we paid, the portions were nothing short of spectacular, especially given the quality of ingredients: whole pieces of crab legs and fresh-tasting 21/30 shrimp on the salad; the Chile Relleno was literally thicker and longer than my arm, stuffed with cheese, and the batter tasted poppin fresh, not reheated or like old oil; the chicken Parm filled up THE ENTIRE STYROFOAM CONTAINER. And it was delicious! And they put garlic bread and a side salad with it! My MIL is going to be eating it over 4 meals, it was that huge.

I feel like I'm going on and on about this place, but after being disappointed again and again by Bridgeton area restaurants for 20+ years, I cannot help but feel effusive. I'm mentally raving and cheering for this place. Any other large metro area, it would be an above-average decent Mexican place. In this area, it was...

I'm ashamed to say I didn't know this restaurant existed until I was searching for local Mexican places last night. However, I'm ecstatic to have found a local place (a 2 minute drive from my house!) with a diverse menu. Since I was craving tacos dorados/flautas, that's what I ordered and it was the perfect portion. It was ready quickly, and I was able to order pick up through DoorDash Storefront. El Pueblito is definitely my new go-to place for authentic Mexican...

Ive been going here for the loaded nachos which are FABULOUSSSSSSS but last night I switched it up, I got birria tacos with rice and beans on the side. OOOOMMMMMGGGGGGG DEEEEEELISHHHHH the cheese pull on the taco was crazzzzzyyyyyy. A tad spicy but it was bangin. The crunch on the outside of the taco 🌮 😍. And they were hot, temperature wise, not warm HOTTTTTT. Clean and smelt clean inside awesome place all those stars...
