While in the area, I drove up on this Amish-style country store and sandwich shop and instantly felt drawn to go in and give it a try. The folks inside were great! Very friendly and helpful. They sell all sorts of items that are local and/or from small batch producers; from meats to dairy, and breads, candies, sweets, etc.
I had a hard time deciding what I should get, so I saw the person in front of me had ordered a salami, turkey, and roast beef sub and it looked amazing, so I told the lady I wanted that same thing. They set up their subs and heat them in an oven. She asked me what bread I want and I fortunately chose the right option, which was Italian… they make this bread in-house and I’ll tell you it was one of the BEST sub rolls I’ve ever had… soft and light, yet sturdy enough to hold this three meat sub I got! For condiments, I opted for lettuce, tomato, and jalapeño with their chipotle sauce on it… It tasted AMAZING!!!
They had a few freshly made soups of the day listed on their sandwich board and after asking them which was the best, I chose their potato and bacon and it was incredible too! They have a large seating area inside too and when I got there, there were only a few people sitting and eating, but within 10 minutes of sitting down, the place was packed! So, clearly this is a very popular option for lunch.
Highly recommend...
Read moreWe stopped in as out-of-towners, having traveled 4 hours to buy a truck nearby. The truck ended up falling through because it was rusted through and not as described by the shady salesman. So, we drove a mile down the road to these folks. Saw the reviews were good and found out for ourselves the reviews were justified!
We had a sub and 2 pizzas, plus donuts. The pizza was so good, the crust was not too hard, but perfectly crunchy and chewy at the same time. I didn't eat the sub, but my husband said it was the best he ever had. The donuts were so filled with cream and jelly that you couldn't take a bite without tasting cream or jelly in every bite. Not like some places you go to and you have to eat half the donut before you taste the filling.
I loved the way the place was decorated with beautiful artwork and it was a Godly atmosphere. There were free tracts and Bible by the front door.
The people were pleasant and very friendly. They had a variety of items to offer in their fridge and freezer and dry goods. I only wish we had this place local to me because I would be a...
