I stepped into restaurant at 8:35, after noting that they closed at 9. I was there for a margarita and chips. I could easily be done by closing. There was 3 tables still sitting when I entered that I saw and 1 table just getting up to leave. I waited to be seated - 5 steps away from 2 workers who were beginning to clear the table that had just gotten up. They just looked at me. I continued to wait and they seemed like they had already decided not to seat me. So I asked the gentleman server if they were open. He "pretended" to not understand English (I know from past visits that he speaks and understands just fine) so I asked again, "open???" He said, "no. We are closed." When I asked when they closed, he said 8:30. He seemed to know very much that they were open for another half hour and simply did not want to serve me. With service like that, I had no interest in making a point of their listed hours. I wouldn't want to drink or pay for a margarita with such questionable service. A week earlier, this same gentleman was working the cash register when I checked out. My bill was $15 and I gave him a $20. He took my cash, left the receipt, and said he'd be "right back". I stood at the register for 10 minutes, waiting for my change while i watched him walk through the restaurant appearing to be busy (the restaurant was NOT busy. It was quite slow and fairly empty) and just out of reach (hanging close to the kitchen.) I ended up just leaving and paid $20 for a single margarita as he never brought back any change though he saw me standing waiting multiple times. I don't know who this worker is...but he is shady, provides no customer...
Read moreWent in with 8 people total. 5 with my sister on her ticket. 3 with me on my ticket. We sat at the same table obviously, but had separate checks. Service wasn’t good at all. We had to go to the bar to ask for fountain refills NUMEROUS times for ourselves and our kids. The waitress never came around. We were asking the poor bartender for drink refills and chips and salsa. Food was so/so. We both planned to leave cash tips. We get our tickets finally and notice they’ve added 18% gratuity to BOTH of our checks. I question why charge both of us the gratuity when the menu says for a party of 8, there will be A 18% gratuity. ((They don’t say they’ll charge EACH TICKET/EACH PERSON 18%. )) and the guy who come over had a worse attitude than our server. He was very rude, disrespectful and unprofessional about the whole situation. I asked the guy if 8 construction guys come in w all separate checks, you charge each one of them 18% and he said yes. I can see making sure the women get their tips, of course, but to charge each person seems as though they are quite money hungry!! Had I not noticed the already added gratuity, we would have doubled both of her tips. Very disappointed in there service and the way they treat people. I won’t ever give them another dollar of mine and I’ll make sure everyone for miles around knows about La Bamba in Mankato or The Taco King in Albert Lea!!!!!! Never had issues with either one of them and the food quality...
Read moreTerrible. Some of the most bland and cheap food I have ever been served. Salsa was like canned crushed tomatoes served in a half empty bowl. Chicken fajita nacho appetizer was a plate of the same chips with maybe 3 slivers of peppers, onions and very few chicken pieces. No seasoning, no flavor, and most of the chips with absolutely nothing at all on them. It is obvious they scrimp on every ingredient and grain of seasoning. Rice was completely bland. Shrimp were cooked until they were rubber and one of the dinners was described as having a special red sauce. I guess it was special because it was invisible. The explanation was that it was cooked in sauce but it comes on the plate dry. The margarita tasted like it was the pre-mix garbage you can buy at the grocery store. Instead of going to this place, go to the dollar store, buy a bag of chips, a can of cooked chicken in water, and a jar of salsa and youll have a better meal than what these people served, and donate your savings to send these people to...
