I was debating with a good friend of mine where and when we could grab some food, maybe a drink, and catch up, since months go by easily with no opportunity. We settled on last Wed, and she suggested The Crooked Creek. I'm very glad she did! I don't get out toward Sweet Valley much, but I didn't mind the half hour-ish drive either. She jets in from a different direction about 15 min. I'm happy to say I underestimated this place just by the outside. It's large, with a parking lot to match. (She reports that the lot fills up on busy weekends easily...) We didn't enjoy the mud outside, but we can't have it all, all the time! Just skip the fancy shoes if it's sloppy out. On the inside, clean. Bright. Inviting. We were quickly met by our server, we had plenty of room to ourselves in the area where full bands play, although the bar was almost full. We sat by a large front window, and were able to watch the light disappear from the sky as well as passing cars. I enjoyed the blue mixed drink with fresh mint I tried, although I can't remember what it was called! The martini with the caramel rim was very good also. The menu has practically something for everyone... pizza, pasta, salads, shrimp, crab cakes, burgers, fried staples, and more! She got a salad with chicken, one of her faves. Since I was the newbie here I didn't know which direction to go, but there was this burger...TOPPED with a crab cake... I had to try. It was a good deal, very filling, and good tasting. In hindsight, I probably would have taken the crab cake off and eaten it separately, I was thinking maybe the flavors would be better by themselves. But I'm certainly willing to get it again to find out. It also came with fries, fresh cut. They were a little dark, but tasty, my only problem was that there were so many little pieces instead of larger fries. One inch pieces aren't very dippable lol! I'm picky! But taste is still the most important thing! Speaking of taste, I can't order THAT much in one visit, so no wings or things this time. But that doesn't mean I couldn't try the sauce! I got a side of mild, and hot honey garlic, just for dipping. Just awesome. A little high on the heat scale but no real problem! I felt very ashamed pushing my plate aside and not finishing every last fry bit and drop of sauce, but I didn't want to push my luck. As far as places I've visited, this is a newer one, their sign says established in 2019. If this single visit of mine is consistent with every typical day of theirs, I have a good feeling that they'll be around for a long time. I can't wait to check out the patio when the weather...

Tonight was our second time there. We enjoyed our 1st time and our food was amazing. Fish and chips and the sante fe (I think that's the name) wrap. Both times staff was friendly. Tonight we waited an hour and finally I asked if out food would be soon. Our waitress apologized and explained what was going on. For some reason they had to change thr fryer oil (strange at 7pm so I would imagine something happened to it) we were starting to get a little impatient but I know stuff happens. And they were not overly busy but not sure what staffing issues. I completely understand things happen. The waitress several minutes later said it would be out soon and they would take 50% off. Very sweet gesture, I could see 20%. Finally about an hour and 20 minutes our food came out. I took a small bite of my chipotle burger any holy cow it was amazing! The fresh fries perfection! The honey mustard was soooo flipping good! My guys pulled pork mac n cheese wrap was delicious too. Another lady came over and said your meal is on us. I said no thats OK. They insisted! That is beyond amazing customer service. They went well above and beyond! We will surely be back! I had joked and said this food better be worth the wait. And it surely was! Im still shocked about the fantastic service! Even had we paid it would still be worth the wait! As we left i saw the lady behind the bar and thanked them again and let them know how amazing the food was. I can not praise...

We came for dinner. Meals & drinks were good. Waitress was slow, no menu so wait no drinks so wait no utensils. Waitress took a long time to return to take orders, meanwhile no drink refills. When food came we didn't see her after that and looked for her when we wanted the bill. As soon as we ordered, a band started to set up. Uh-oh. I like music and so do all members of my party, but typically a band at dinnertime means we cannot talk to each other anymore. As soon as the food came the hand started to play, VERY loud. That was the end of our dinner. We came from different parts of the country to meet in the Ricketts Glen area to hike and talk and catch up. This was our first night. We ate fast and left. The music was so loud that my ear drums were getting electric pain shocks. No thanks. I'm sure the band played and sang well, but with extreme volume I can't enjoy. Maybe they thought they needed the volume that high to be playing for the bar in the next room. I don't know, but I was in the dining room with the band. The dining room has very few tables and lots of floor space so that only added to the echo effect...

Stopped by for a quick lunch after hiking at the state park nearby. Their menu is lengthy and offers a wide variety of options despite it being a casual bar. I couldn’t resist trying the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese bites, and I am glad I indulged! It was quiet inside, as we popped in around 1 on a weekday, but I inquired with the bartender (who was lovely and attentive) about their volume on weekends and it’s clear they bring the crowds in. The establishment is large with several tables around the bar, plenty of standing room, and a separate dining room. If I’m ever in the area again I surely wouldn’t hesitate to stop in to take advantage of their dinner menu and a few brews. They don’t have a wide variety of drafts, but rotate seasonal/local brews appropriately, along with a full bar otherwise. Money spent $20-30 PP to include alcohol purchased, you can easily get a meal here for less.

I was there around 1pm on a Saturday. Plenty of parking and seating available. I ordered the Triple BBQ Bacon Burger with fries, added baked beans, and coleslaw and Sam Adams on tap. Everything was delicious. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was excellent - friendly and attentive. There were pool tables, a digital jukebox, and multiple TV screens. Everything was clean. There's plenty of room for larger parties and the atmosphere was comfortable. Bring a sweater if you're prone to getting cold. Enjoy!

Our waitress seemed bothered the whole night and the bartender had to help her out. We waited an hour for our loaded waffle fries and we asked for no sour cream and they put sour cream on it. The fries had hardly any cheese as well as my cheese burger (there must have been a cheese shortage). My wife said her wrap was sub par and their "homemade" chips all tasted burnt.
