Not just another cafe, this is Uncle Lenny's Country Cafe! And let me tell you that you're in for an amazing time! From the moment you walk in you'll feel right at home. From the rustic atmosphere with a bright and welcoming flair, the cheerful staff and delicious smells, it's all here for you. Inside the counter display are all sorts of freshly baked good, but don't spoil your appetite for the main course just yet! The James Burger is out of this world, there's home style tasting mac and cheese, pulled pork, delicious meatloaf, traditional perogies, crispy fried chicken, and more. This isn't your normal meat-n-three! They offer cocktails, beer, and wine now! The cafe has plenty of space and an overflow section for large groups. Everything was clean, well stocked tables, and attention to quality such as REAL BUTTER! I can't tell you how many times I find myself with a delicious roll of cornbread only to have oily margarine sitting there. No, here at Uncle Lenny's it's quality and there's even a healthy section of offerings for the low calorie crowd. Desserts are piled high, check out the cinnamon roll tower or the spectacular carrot cake, cookies, cakes, muffins, and more. Look, there's hidden gems everywhere but you've stumbled upon the hidden diamond of Fairview and you'll want to come in for all the sparkling deliciousness Uncle Lenny's Country Cafe has to offer!

We stopped in to try this restaurant. Sadly disappointed. I don't think we will go back. It was dinner time. They had no one that could serve alcohol. If they sell it you would think someone could! I ordered the meatloaf with macaroni and cheese, green beans, and corn. I understand meatloaf can be very different from place to place. The top of the meatloaf was extremely brown. They poured ketchup on it. Which was odd because if I wanted ketchup it was on the table. It didn't have a lot of flavor. The corn and the Italian green beans had no flavor. It was like they were poured out of a can and heated. Not what I would expect from a meat and 3 place. You could add some kind of flavor to them. The macaroni and cheese. It did have flavor. It was mush as you see from the picture. It was cooked to death. It was pieces of pasta. A bad experience all over. My husband has the Nashville Hot Mess Chicken Hoagie. He had it wet. He didn't complain just said it was okay. The french fries were dry like they had been over cooked or were just old. There was no meat to them. We cook fresh ff all of the time. This is not what they are supposed to taste like. It was nice and clean. There is plenty of parking. Just disappointed in the food. They also had 2 TVs that they had music on. Not sure why they were even on.

Love it! Uncle Lenny’s has only been open a few days but it already feels like a Fairview staple. We arrived at about 1:30 pm (Saturday) and they had their brunch menu available. It was crowded but there was surprisingly enough seating. We ordered at the front counter and less than 15 minutes later we had all our food. In total my husband and I ordered: coffee cake, the pierogi platter (all 3 types), chicken and waffles with the blackberry syrup, the E3 burger, and an extra side of biscuits and gravy. Total price came out to roughly $60 including tip. Every single thing we ate was delicious! I was surprised at how much we both loved the E3 burger too. I can honestly say I’ve never had salami on a burger until now. And, finding pierogis in the south is difficult, especially GOOD, homemade pierogis like these ones. If you’ve never had one, try it. I think my favorite flavor was the solo pulled pork (The pink pierogis in the pictures). We already are planning on our next trip back to try the Smoked Sausage Platter 😁

First time here since the new owners took it over and turned it into Uncle Lenny's. If there was an option for half stars, I would probably rate this place about a 3.5

I got the James Burger (no onion) with fries, and a soda to drink.

Presentation: It was plated well and looks tasty. The fries come in a paper lined reusable metal cup that you see at restaurants more and more. The lettuce and tomato for the burger are on the side.

The meat: It's ground a little bit finer than what you would normally get from supermarket ground beef. I've had that texture before, especially at restaurants in the PNW, it's good, just creates a different mouth feel. It's advertised as smashburger, however I would not call it that. The two patties are cooked on a flat top and have that light char on the outside, but it is thicker, more like a traditional patty. If he are familiar with Culver's versus Freddy's. This is like the Culver style patty rather than a true smashburger like Freddy's.

The tomato: Could definitely tell it was sliced by hand. It was cut at an odd angle so the slice of tomato tapered to one edge and was only big enough to cover about 2/3 of the surface area of the beef patties. It was a decent tasting tomato, fresh and had a good texture.

The lettuce: Chopped lettuce like you would get in a bag from the grocery store. I would have preferred a whole leaf or two. Being chopped lettuce, isn't really conducive to putting in on a burger. The lettuce seemed fresh and did not have any brown spots.

The special sauce: Looks like thousand Island but taste different. Closer to a fry sauce then thousand Island. I've had something similar, but I cannot remember where. It has a very familiar and pleasant flavor. They put the right amount on the burger. It was not overpowered by the special sauce, nor so light that you couldn't taste it at all.

The bun: This is where the burger really struggled. The bun is way too big for the burger in both height and diameter. The burger patties are noticeably smaller in diameter than the bun. At first glance it leaves you with a feeling that you've been cheated on the amount of meat in the patties. When you look at it closer you realize it's just a large bun. It is also a very tall bun. When taking a bite, it leaves you with the feeling that the meat to bun ratio is off. You taste a lot of bread, compared to the amount of meat. The bun itself is good, just way too much of it. The bun, I think was brioche, seemed fresh.

The fries: The fries were okay. A bit on the soggy side. I appreciated they weren't oversalted which seems to be the case at a lot of restaurants now.

The soda: The cup they give you for the soda is a small, thin plastic cup, like one you might get at a counter service restaurant when you ask for a water cup. You fill it at a self-serve Pepsi station. Upon leaving I went to fill up my cup to take it to go. None of the lids at the Pepsi station fit the cup I was given. I asked an employee if they had lids to fit my cup and I was told no. She told me "only those cups have lids" as she pointed back towards the counter where you order. I asked her how do I get one of those cups, and she very politely went over and got me one. The conversation wasn't contentious, but it seemed odd that I had to get a different cup to fit the lids they had on display. The quality of the cup, or lack thereof, did not seem to fit with the decor or the plating of the meal.

The price: The burger and fries are $14, the soda was $3. The burger seems priced about right given the quality and freshness of the ingredients. However, I believe the soda is overpriced.

Atmosphere: I ate here a lot when it used to be Country Cafe. They put a lot of time, energy, and money to clean and spruce up the place. The clientele is definitely different. Feels more Franklin than Fairview. Gone are the ole timers in coveralls and John Deere hats. I miss having lunch with them :(

Overall: 3.5. It's not somewhere I would probably go regularly, but might be a cute little place to take visiting...

Uncle Lenny's Country Cafe was the last stop on our Nashville trip. It was the best way to wrap up a fantastic vacation before heading back to Ohio. First, let me compliment Lynn and Eddie on the warm and welcoming feel as soon as you walk through the door. From the local artisan displays to the adorable decor, you can't help but feel at home.

With a group of five we got to taste a lot. The waffles were light, airy and delicious. Now...add chicken to the waffles and you've got yourself a seriously good breakfast. The bacon was cooked to perfection. The sausage gravy was absolutely the best I've ever had. The fried potatoes were crispy, but not overcooked and were very flavorful. The eggs were cooked to a perfect over medium. Last but not least, the Bloody Mary was almost a meal in itself. It is served in a cute mason jar with bacon and celery. But why stop there? They bring out a cart with all the accoutrements you could possibly want to top off your drink. Now, that's what I call service.

We got some desserts for the road and they were outstanding. The brownie, chocolate chip cookie, berry cake and peanut butter pie were mouthwatering delicious. They are all homemade, as is all their food. You can taste the love and dedication in every bite.

So, if you've never been to Uncle Lenny's Country Cafe, you must check it out. You will not be disappointed. If you've been there before and loved it, go back again to love it even more. If your experience wasn't the best, give them another chance to prove they deserve your business. You will be glad you did.

Thank you for the wonderful meal and gracious hospitality. Wishing you great success and...
