Rhett's Tails & Shells — Restaurant in Farmerville

this is a Facebook comment I made regarding my experience that Rhett’s just deleted & disregarded.. (editing to add that they’ve now blocked me lmao) wasn’t gonna leave a Google review but since they did that I thought, “why not” 😊

it was 12 and some change per pound on the 5th when I went.. and they messed my order up.. said they were training a new girl which would've been fine had it not been OPENING WEEKEND of crawfish season & they had her, of all things, answering the phone and taking orders.. when she didn't even know the menu. I paid $108 for ONE cluster of crabs, ONE steak (both were supposed to come with shrimp & neither did) & 3 Ibs of crawfish. Had I not drove all the way from Arkansas not feeling well and starving, (I got my order to go and didn't realize all my shrimp was missing til way up the road) I would have taken what little food they gave me back inside, gotten my money back & left. We full time RV & were in the area for 2 nights. The first night, we were staying at a beautiful state park down the road & decided to try Rhetts for dinner, based on reviews. We absolutely loved it! Our son got the fried fish basket, my hubby had the crawfish special & I ordered the grilled shrimp dinner. ALL of our food was delicious & we LOVED the outdoor seating area overlooking the lake- which is how we discovered the RV park right across the inlet. The following day, we moved our rig & stayed at the park across from Rhett's. Naturally, we returned for dinner the second day & had another awesome meal. What a great location & the food is amazing! The walk up order window/pick up your own food is a little odd but totally worth the trade off for wonderful food in a fantastic setting. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely come back...

I took a large party there as a business outing at the suggestion of someone local in my party. I had the grilled gulf shrimp and they were very good. Most of the party either had a steak or crawfish. Those with steaks ordered medium rare reported their steaks came back medium, but that's not a deal breaker. The crawfish were seasoned just right (not too salty). The ambience and vibe is very cool. What wasn't cool was the eating area, but someone eventually turned on the AC. The only thing I wouldn't reorder would be the boudin egg rolls: I love both egg rolls and boudin balls, but their culinary involvement with each other should be limited. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly....
