It was wing night. We are from the Buffalo area. This was our vacation spot, so we thought we'd try the wings somewhere different. Lots of ways to have them with various sauces and rubs. Ordered a small pizza to go with the wings. We were told the wings were huge, like equivalent to 2 regular wings. What we weren't expecting was the whole wing. They did not cut them up it was the drum and flat, plus the tip. They had a crispy skin like fried chicken. They were good, but not what I would call wings. I got a side of bleu cheese for dipping, but I never used it, I was too busy ripping the meat apart to eat. We had BBQ style. The sauce was just dumped on top. The proper way would be to toss the wings in it. Our expectations were high, so we were a little disappointed. As for the pizza, you simply can't get anything close to Buffalo style anywhere else. It was just alright. The waitress was very nice. We had French onion soup as well, and it needed to be hotter temperature, and more cheese would've been nice. Call me picky, but restaurant trips are expensive, so I expect great food and great service. This place was just alright. If you're looking for a casual dining experience, it's a good place to go for tasty food and...
Read moreI only visit a few times a year when in the area, but I have never had a bad experience. The pizza is fantastic and the other menu items have always been satisfactory. Very nice atmosphere with good people most of the time. I've never been there that a complete stranger hasn't bought a round. I was there for the Steeler's Division Championship to years ago and the employee's were having a party in the back and after things slowed down, they invited us back and insisted that we eat all we could. Very nice people, family owned for a very very long time. As for wing prices, I live in pittsburgh and unfortunately market price for chicken wings has gone absurdly high. Many local places have even taken them off of the menu because they don't want to be blamed for the prices, 18.00/doz. is...
Read moreI've been visiting Vince's tavern all my life. It's gone through many changes, but one thing always remains the same. You're treated like family here.
Daily specials, and seafood specials on weekends. It's a great place for a sit down dinner with the family, a quick bite or a beer. Popular with the locals, hunters and bikers, and almost always busy on game nights. It's got a great ambiance, surrounded by pine trees and the forest. They have a small stage outside where they have live music weekends...
