Greenside at Tunxis Country Club — Restaurant in Farmington

The food was good- typical tavern fare. The manager, who was also our server, was inept. Terrible at taking orders and when the bill came took the check without asking if it was ready. We were a large party and were in the process of sorting out how much each person would pay. Consequently, my husband’s card was charged for the whole thing and when asked to fix the error and cancel the transaction we were told that the register had closed and they wouldn’t be able to do it until the next morning. Called the next afternoon and after no answer, we went to the restaurant and were told that the person who was capable of fixing the error wouldn’t be at work until Sunday or Monday. The bill was several hundred dollars- to be told that we would have wait several days for the error to be fixed is ridiculous and totally unprofessional. What type of manager doesn’t know how to charge back a credit card? Not only did the restaurant get the cost of the meal paid, they then printed another receipt and the party paid again- we essentially paid twice for a meal. So, the food was good, the service inept and god help you if you go with more than one person paying. If this is how well they handle a simple meal, I have no confidence that they would be able to handle more complicated transactions...

First of all there were two young boys working not very with it . Too involved with entertaining each other than paying attention to customers. My husband asked one of the boys are you ready to take our order? He said real snarky like "are you" ... This is rude and ridiculous. Our order was taken 2 burgers one well and the other pick . Well, both were pink. Told the kid, than it took another 25 minutes for my burger. But by that time my husband was done eating! Kid said he won't charge for my burger but on bill he took like $5 off. If you say you will take it off take it off. Very unprofessional and on top of that I had water my husband had a sprite. Yet he charged for 2 soda's. Place was not busy. Before we were gonna leave 2 guys sat down near me waited 20 minutes to get one of these kids attention to take their order. The guy says to the kid well are you ready to take our order? Same kid says are you! This was not a pleasant experience. I don't believe those two had any prior...

The newly renovated tavern is great. The atmosphere is fun, especially after a round of golf on the weekends or during their happy hours. The staff is all very friendly and really aim to please. The food is delicious - they have more "traditional" menu items (definitely try the wings), and also new additions to their menu. The breakfast sandwiches in the morning are the best, and you can't go wrong with their burger (also, all portions are pretty generous). Sitting outside is very pretty, especially at night. The events they host in the tavern are also fun, such as the BaR Rated Trivia on Friday nights. Would definitely come here to grab a...
