Rarely write reviews, but had a negative experience tonight unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. We went this evening 4-1-22 at 7:06 pm, we were going to get takeout but there was an open table on the patio so we decided to stay and eat there. We - a party of 4- ordered pretty immediately -a salad, a couple of appetizers, and entrees -2 chicken pot pies, Mac and cheese, and the steak tips. We waited over an hour with no food, not even the salad or bread we ordered. The restaurant was not full inside when we went in to use the restroom. The waitress did come out twice to tell us the kitchen was just really behind, I asked if we could get the salad and bread. She told us it’d be about another ten minutes. Our food all came out at once, which was still fine.
The food itself was not very good. Two people got chicken pot pie and they said that was okay. The seafood fondue was more like a spinach dip. The steak tips were just not good at all, they tasted like a Banquet frozen meal, and my friend’s Mac and cheese looked and tasted like Kraft.
At that point we were just waiting for our bill to come so we could pay and leave. There was a lot of unfinished food on our table, a man who I thought was the manager but appears to be Chef George came to the table and asked how everything was. My friend responded that her chicken pot pie was good, but several food items were a little disappointing. He asked what was wrong with it, and as she was starting to explain that we waited over an hour for it, he cut her off and asked “did you have a reservation?” We said no, and he said “well that explains it”. He then proceeded to say that we were “partially to blame” for the poor food and service for not having a reservation. My friend said “I don’t feel like this conversation is going to be productive.” And he said “no it’s not”. He told us that they were seating 75 people in a restaurant that’s supposed to only hold 40, and he was just going to clear our bill so we could leave and huffed “we are just going to pretend this never happened”, when we said that wasn’t necessary and were happy to pay for our food.
I’ve been a server, I’ve eaten at 5 star restaurants and dives, I way overtip, and have never, ever, experienced the level of rudeness from anyone in management or service in the restaurant industry or any other industry. I was stunned and simply said “wow”, after he left the table and was walking inside. He turned back around and screamed “yeah, WOW!”. Then, proceeded to come back to the table as we were leaving - about two minutes later - and berated us some more. My friend again tried to be empathetic and said “I’m sure you’ve had a stressful day” and he again screamed at us about having 75 people in a restaurant built for 40. (Again, we did not wait for a table, and would have happily left if they’d said they were full for the night.)
Be warned and...
Read moreI selected Fayetteville fas it was more or less equidistant from Austin, Tomball and Missouri City. Bunch menu items are not listed in the "dishes to recommend". Brunch menu has Fresh Baked Biscuits, Eggs Benedict (Eggs and Canadian Bacon on a toasted English muffin with homemade Hollandaise Sauce), American Scrambled Eggs (Eggs, Bacon and Cheddar Cheese), Texas Hash (Local Breakfast Sausage, Potatoes, Bell Peppers, Onions, Cheddar Cheese and Two Fried Eggs), Italian Frittata (Italian Sausage, Mozzarella, Provolone and Romano Cheeses, Eggs and Roma Tomatoes), Tex Mex Frittata (Chorizo, Monterrey Jack Cheese and Eggs), Belgian Waffle with freshly whipped cream, and Creme Brulee French Toast, and Slow Cooked Country Roast With Carrots and Potatoes. Between the five of us we ordered all except for the American Scrambled eggs. All ordered items were tasty and enjoyable. Somewhat unusual were the frittatas served in a bowl. The Country Roast was very tender, melt in the mouth. But the French Toast, though tasty the creme brulee didn't come through, and English muffins with Eggs Benedict were a bit “tough” as they grew cold. The mimosa had two options available. I preferred the orange juice mimosa to cranberry juice mimosa. Though not on the menu couple ordered iced coffee, which was essentially hot coffee served with glass of ice. Perhaps Chef George could consider adding iced coffee to the menu, especially for the hotter and hotter summer menu. Summing up, it was an enjoyable experience, and one of these days we could...
Read moreWow!! Where do I even start? From Joan Herring whom we rented the Sealy House from to how we were greeted when we walked into the Grand, it was AMAZING! Chef George came out to speak with us, he and my husband, David even traded cigar, scotch & bourbon stories. The food was outstanding and we are not easy to please. The shrimp & crawfish fondue 5 stars. The pork ribeye & sides 5 stars. Our waitress, Joan 5 stars. Chef George 5 stars. We left completely satisfied but with no room for dessert. We came back the next night and had equally amazing experience and saved room for George’s bread pudding, OMG!! Now, my husband and I do not typically like bread pudding, but we were sold by Joan & George and to say it did not disappoint, does not do it justice, it was quite simply, the most incredible dessert I have ever had. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experiences!! Linda...
