To be very clear I know a lot of event planners in the city, and my mother was a prominent event planner (and she was successful at it because she knows and cares about people as people) but for me personally I am a peachy student and a law student. I had an uncomfortable situation because there’s no doubt that this company has talent regarding the decoration of their products. With that being said I had the company commit to The potential of having an event, they miss read the idea of a collaboration and I responded and after figuring out that it was a collaboration they no longer wanted to provide. After saying they would a half an hour earlier, I think personally that’s not only poor business it also speaks to the nature of what a business should and can be. With this being a small business that is trying to make a name for themselves I think it’s incredibly dismissive without checking the possible benefits for the company but as well as the fact that people shouldn’t have to disclose who their friends in the business world or to get someone to care about the fact that they want to promote their business. Quite honestly it’s not even that it’s that when cold out on this, this company provided an extremely uncomfortable response in the fact that they have the right to refuse service. I don’t know about you but I do not know many open minded companies who say things like this, so as a small business it just seems pretty bizarre to have that relationship from the get go. I think it definitely goes to show character of the company and I never ever ever post a review if you look this will certainly be the first but I think that that is terrible customer service and quite honestly demeaning and...
Read moreFor almost a year, my wife had one request for her birthday cake: Flick of the Whisk. After making sure to never upset the wife, we waited until about 1 1/2 months out and then made the order for a 6” cake.
The cake details: Size: 6” Cake: Red Velvet Filling: Cream Cheese Buttercream: Oreo Design: Creative Freedom
From the start Bryonna (owner of Flick of the Whisk) had fantastic communication throughout the entire process. She is very responsive and helped answer all of my questions. Fantastic customer service which can never be underestimated!
On day of arrival, Bryonna re-communicated the expectations on how to pick it up as well as care instructions for the cake as we were transporting the cake from Denver to Colorado Springs.
Pro Tip: Please choose “Creative Freedom” and allow Bryonna to design the cake how she wants. Once we saw Bryonna with the cake my wife and I were astonished. It is gorgeous. From the intricate detail of the design on the Oreo buttercream to the addition of flowers - this cake stood out as the best cake we’ve ever received. We came to that conclusion without even tasting it yet!
Once arriving back to Colorado Springs, we took some photos and dived in. The red velvet cake is heavenly. The dual cream cheese layer are thick and compliments the red velvet cake well.
Her recommended Oreo buttercream is what all cookie lovers want. Bites of Oreos in every bite of the buttercream.
Overall, this cake wasn’t just another birthday cake. It was truly a gift. Our expectations were surpassed in every single way. We both would recommend Bryonna from Flick of the Whisk Cakes for any and...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment with a recent cake order we placed and paid for in full for my sister’s baby shower. We were informed by the baker last minute that the cake would need to be delivered a day earlier than originally planned.
Unfortunately, when the cake was cut into during the shower, it was extremely dry and brittle, and it crumbled apart as we tried to serve it. This was quite embarrassing for my wife and me, as the cake was meant to be a special treat for my sister and her family in front of our guests. The fact that the entire cake went uneaten the following day speaks to its quality.
The only resolution offered was a credit for a future event, which we declined. It was also notable that our guests preferred other desserts over the cake and cupcakes from your bakery. I have included photos as evidence of the cake's condition. Based on this experience, I would recommend that others consider alternative options for their bakery needs.
We are very disappointed that no responsibility was taken for the poor quality of the cake and the unsatisfactory service. While I understand business policies, when a customer spends $600 on a cake that is inedible, some form of partial or half refund should be considered. Offering a credit for a future order is not a satisfactory solution, especially given our negative first experience.
To be clear, WE WOULD NOT consider purchasing from Flick of the Whisks Cakes again under any...
