I can't express enough my desire for this food to be tolerable. While I never ordered the top notch entrees they boast, if they can't deliver on the most basic of foods, in my eyes it hardly matters. Multiple times over the course of a few years, from chicken wings to sandwiches to random appetizers, they've either gone from average to absolutely horrid. Nothing appears to be seasoned, chicken wings are bland and never spicy, pierogies are always chewy despite being 'deep fried', sandwiches and hoagies constantly with wet bread. Deep fried pickles with sizes smaller than typical fast food french fries. This isn't intended to be a negative review for the sake of it, but instead a legit concern over how people can boast about this quality of food. I will not say the quality of entrees is negative, as I've never had the majority of them (I admit I should try their dry aged steaks), but as a guy who enjoys the simple appetizers and wings and such, they're not at all up to par. I legitimately hope the quality can rise, since clearly they take pride in many aspects. Skimping on the small stuff is just a huge negative.

Edit: This is from the reply to to the review. Pretty clear the one in charge of replying to reviews barely cares considering the first question is 'was it takeout or in-house' when clearly I said over the course of years of ordering. So another negative in that behind the scenes they have trouble really reacting to negative things to say, and aren't striving to improve in the slightest, but rather ask typical questions to look like they are.

Extra edit - 6/12/2023

Can't say I didn't give it the best chance possible, decided to try for a sit-in lunch, a dry aged steak meal. Completely disappointed with it. Dark black grill lines, but overall pale, grey meat. It was cooked correctly as asked at a medium rare, but a nonexistent, sad sear. Baked potato with zero crisp. A steak with no sear is just always going to be a bad experience, for the price I paid for my meal, absolutely not worth it in any way. Nearly eighty dollars for a below average meal I could cook better at home for a fraction of the price.

This is not just a jab at the food. For food to have just grill lines and still be grey on the outside means while they might cook the meat 'correctly', they most certainly also cook it so simply that there's no concern given to texture or flavor. Grey meat isn't appealing visually or texturally. Grill lines are just burnt meat marks. Dry aged meats are a joke when they're cooked below the level of a home cook, it's actually just embarrassing. More embarrassing than the fact that I spent god damn seventy dollars today on such a bland, tasteless...

I placed a mobile order and picked it up with ease. When I got home I noticed that I was missing items that I paid for.

When I called, they told me that I did not mark it down but I know I definitely did because I had issues ordering through their online site & I paid an extra $1-$2.

They continue to try to repeat to me that I asked for no toppings and I had to repeat myself that I paid extra. So I should get what I paid for.

Now, I live less than 5 minutes away from this restaurant. So they decided that they were going to drop it off for me. I was cool with this.

It took well over 15 minutes to receive the rest of my order. I knew at that point they were definitely closed and I felt bad. I already ate my food by then, otherwise it would of been cold.

I called them and I told them not to worry about delivering as I'm closing up for the night. Can I just get my $1 and change back? I could even pick it up tomorrow. Maybe even forward it to the next meal or something because I liked this place.

Unfortunately, I don't know who was in charge but she berated me by saying," I just want a dollar and some change back?"

Honestly yeah, I do and I'll tell you why.

I'm sick and tired of having to pay restaurants an extra $2 to $3 for a mistake or if something goes missing and I never complain about it. Every time I don't say anything it's because I'm worried somebody is going to think I'm cheap and I get ridiculed for it.

Honestly, if $2 is too much work for you to refund then you guys can keep it. Maybe you could use the extra money but...

I am a hard-working citizen who makes $17 an hour, and every dollar counts. Sometimes I want a nice meal every once in awhile But that is besides the point.

I do not want anything because I do like this restaurant but I did not like my experience. Like I said, it's not so much the scenario but the principle of the matter. I'm tired of people stealing money from me little by little. I am tired of not saying anything and now I'm finally saying something. This pattern needs to stop and I don't care where it starts. It just needs to stop cuz...

I’m sorry to say Frank’s place was terrible experience! The waitress was already in a negative mood when she seated us and we (my sister and I visiting from Florida) were so excited to try this little restaurant because my aunt and uncle have been there before and told us the food was good! When we were about to order our food my aunt and her friend were discussing what they were going to eat the waitress looked at them and said looking at me I’ll start with you because there’s a lot of hostility coming from them pointing at my aunt and her friend, I smiled thinking she was kidding but she wasn’t! That should have given me an indication to leave, but I really wanted to give them a chance. The food was good but the owner and her staff are an embarrassment to the establishment! Picture 5 seniors sitting having lunch and discussing medical issues about cancer and aids which my brother is battling and fighting for his life and some adult conversations trying to have a fun afternoon and our waitress got offended about our conversation. Now if she was doing her job serving us instead of listening to our conversations she wouldn’t have heard us or paid attention to us so moments later the owner came over and actually reprimanded us and scolded us like children, so we questioned her why she was treating us so poorly and the owner didn’t like to be questioned so she blew up raising her voice telling us to never come back! We apologized but she didn’t want to hear us! I have never in my life been so embarrassed as I was in Frank’s place! Needless to say we will never ever go back there! My sister and I, my aunt and uncle and the family friend felt very discriminated against and my uncle has spent thousands of dollars in Frank’s place over the years! I will inform all my friends about this and I have so many! You know what they say about the word of mouth, it travels fast! Some advice to the business owner, you should be the neutral party in all of this! I was a very successful restaurant...

Sorry to say I've eaten here several times with no complaints. But tonight I had the house special prime rib.. which after sending it back along with my other half's steak wrap the both came back in 3 minutes and rubbery. Which leads me to believe it was microwaved.. sorry if you have a large volume of people, have enough staff to work. Our waitress only came around once every 1/2 hour & at one point was so overwhelmed with people she brought the complete wrong drinks. Further, from the time we ordered till we got our meal it took 1 1/2 hours. Sorry probably the last time for the 4 of us here. **I am editing this review from 1 to 3 stars due to the owner's diligence in handling the situation. After posting this review, he took the time to locate me on Facebook and contact me personally to see what transpired that evening. He apologized for the experience and mailed a complimentary gift card to our house for any future visit. I commend his dedication to ensuring complete customer satisfaction after that experience. **second edit. As noted above, the owner went out of his way to ensure our return. We went back tonight and could not have had a better experience. The waitress was friendly, personable, and efficient. Appetizers were received quickly and were very good. The main dishes ordered were phenomenal. My bf had the steak Neapolitan and I had the A1 burger. The only small issue was i ordered curly fries and received regular fries. No big deal. Both meals cooked perfectly. Thank you for a very nice evening!

Update on my review. I don't know why this was saved to my drafts. I drive almost an hour to eat here. We pass several restaurants on the way. I have recommend Franks Place to so many people. Someone asked me if I was his PR person.(No I'm not, just a satisfied customer) I have been here numerous times since my orginal review. Each time everything is perfect. From the food to the service. What I like about them is they all work as a team. Another waitress past by & saw my drink was empty. She asked if I wanted a refill. Most places don't do that. I'll add Prime Rib pictures next time. That is what we usually get. This was lunchtime. My husband said it was the juiciest hamburger. He had a mushroom bacon Swiss burger. He also had the calamari that was cooked to perfection. I had mozzarella sticks. Kudos to you Frank for hiring the right people for the job. ----------------------------------------------- I highly recommend Franks Place. Family owned & operated. I have been here twice,in one week. Excellent service. Delicious food. Pristine restaurant, from the parking lot to the beautiful outside dining & gorgeous inside. This is one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever been in. I'm super picky about that. The food is excellent, big portions at affordable prices. One tip if you come on the weekend at dinner time come early. It gets very crowded.

What a find!!! Don't be fooled by the old school front entrance and look. This is THE place to dine. You know you are on to something when pass the beautiful classic bar area and see the extensive classy dining area(s). We opted for patio dining which was comfortable and pleasant. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. The service is outstanding; friendly, attentive. Informative, and happy. All our meals were delicious, ample, and high quality. Oh my, we need to go back for dessert. Do not pass this place... PS: The owner is proudly and successfully carrying on the tradition and legacy of his parents. This is a real gem... August 8, 2022: One year later, celebrating my birthday, decided to visit again. Even better...Top quality service and more then ample servings of deliciously prepared food. Our server, Mary B., was just what the old man needed for a happy birthday meal...helpful, patient, and a wonderful sense of humor. We all felt at home. Only downside was the frosty hostess who was a bit curt and unsmiling. But, as my wife would say...a little grace, she may be having a hard day. Hey, this is still our go to place when in the area. The boss man has kept the tradition of excellence alive.
