Wooden Nickel Saloon — Restaurant in Ferryville

Stopped in today with my wife and son hoping to try the food and enjoy the atmosphere. The server unfortunately ignored us completely as she tended to two other tables. Even a simple "I'll be with you in a few moments." or even give some sort of acknowledgement that we are there. We unfortunately decided after 15 minutes of this and watching the server walk past 7-8 times we would ask the bartender if we needed to order with them but there was no one tending the bar so it was time to leave. We went further up the river and got food at a different bar and grille. At the very most I would only go back for a drink.

Love this place, great food, friendly and helpful staff. We always look forward to stopping here even if it's out of our way. Update, last weekend we had a minor mechanical problem on our old Harley and mentioned it to a patron that we would need to borrow a wrench. Within 5 minutes we were offered a truck full of tools and the owner offering help and clean shop towels. Thanks for the help friends, can't wait to stop in and...

I time my travel to be hungry, and go out of my way to stop at The Wooden Nickel. Great old time bar and grill, like the ones I remember from my childhood. My go to is the bacon cheeseburger with the slaw. Large, tasty burger. I always sit on the far side of the bar so I can watch the trains and the barges go by. ...
