this could be a five-star experience on any given day. the breaded tenderloin is very moist with a thin crispy crust. unfortunately the bun disintegrated halfway through making it difficult to eat. even so I'd give it 5 stars. the grilled tenderloin was so dry we couldn't finish it. french fries are nice and crispy; looked like the frozen crinkle cut kind but they were good. the onion rings have nice thick rings with a nice thick batter unfortunately they would not stick together. very difficult to eat. we would have liked to have stopped while riding our bikes on the vandalia trail, but they don't answer their phone when they're busy so we had to wait until after the ride and drive back. we were pleased that the sandwiches were wrapped in foil that we can recycle (and did). but the onion rings were in unrecyclable styrofoam.

Not at all being rude by saying this but it was an amazing little spot in the middle of nowhere! We stopped in for a late breakfast from a job site. Food WAS AMAZING! Great flavor, home cooking, fresh ingredients, huge portions, very inexpensive, and friendly staff and local folks eating. Yes it was cash only but worth the trip to an ATM up the street to eat there.

Stopped by for breakfast on my way home from Danville. Delicious little diner with homemade food and service with a smile. My smothered sausage skillet was great. Coffee is pretty good too. It's great to have these little places to eat instead of fast food or chains. 👍🏻😎

If you're looking for the typical mom & pop restaurant, you won't find one more so than Bert & Betty's Kitchen in Fillmore, Indiana. Home cooked meals in a country setting. Not fancy, but the service and food is well worth the visit. I stumbled on this one while shooting photos for the Putnam County Visitor's Bureau and couldn't pass it up. Traditional eggs, bacon and toast - and it...
