First visit here this year. The food is still great quality but I do have to agree with other reviews that it is a bit greasy. The waitress was very helpful and nice. I tried their craft root beer and while I liked it, it might not be everyone's choice because it has a strong molasses taste and possibly a little bit of sassafras. In other words, a definite old fashioned root beer from the past century. My partner had their smash burger and spicy cheese bites and both were excellent in her opinion. I had their pizza burger and onion rings and both were quite tasty. The onion rings were nice and crispy. The only fault I had was the seasoning on my burger seemed to be all concentrated on one half. Hopefully, I have a chance to come back before they close for the season.

The wife and I both got smash burgers. They basically come with the same toppings. Mustard, onions (which are grilled), cheese, and pickle. Very typical smashburger but tasty. I got crinkle cut fries which are just your very standard run of the mill frozen fry. The wife got onion rings which were the same. If you order a large drink, be forewarned. It's a small cup even as a large. The food was good. But lots of grease. Your wrappers will be saturated with the grease. If you're coming here as we did, travelers going through the area. Be advised that they do not do CarHop as it would seem on line. You'll have to get out and order it the window. it's a little intimidating sitting in the middle at the picnic tables with cars pulling up within 3 ft of you.

Had high hopes as I remember root beer stands when I was a kid! Getting homemade root beer delivered to your car in a frosty glass mug was something I looked forward to! Those days are gone, apparently. We had to walk up and stoop down to the counter to place an order. Not the most comfortable position. The traffic was also very noisy, making it difficult to hear. We ordered a smash burger, chicken tenders (came with fries), mozzarella sticks, 2 large root beers and 1 large root beer float. Smash burger was good but a little salty. Chicken tenders are pretty good but the honey mustard was not good at all. Fries were good! The root beer came in a Styrofoam cup (bummer) and was better than a can of Mug root beer but Culver's root beer is far better! The root beer float cost $4 more than the plain root beer and it had a literal "plop" of ice cream in it, so not worth the extra cost! I realize we didn't try the smoked items, but my husband smokes meat very well so I don't need to try that stuff. The prices also seemed higher in some areas than I normally see at this kind of place. Overall, it was a big disappointment and we won't likely return. If you're looking for nostalgia from the old A&W root beer stands, keep looking because...

I'm conflicted on how to review this place. The atmosphere, service, and food are everything you could ask for. However, it's a rootbeer stand and that's where the issue lies. If you try to order the craft rootbeer, they will make sure to clarify that you actually want that and not the fountain rootbeer. The fact that they bend over to clarify which rootbeer you want should be the warning you need to re-evaluate your choices. If you like craft rootbeer, steer clear of this. It will make you question your own taste and love of craft rootbeers. I love traveling and trying different ones. This is sadly the first I've ever had that's just plain awful. If a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks had a baby with an off the shelf rootbeer brand. This would be the bastard child they created. I rarely leave negative reviews but I'm kind of flabbergasted that someone brewed this and thought that it tasted good enough to serve. I know the spectrum of flavor in rootbeer is vast but holy smokes.. I'm not sure if this is a new brewing operation or an inexperienced brewery to begin with. However, I'm not even sure that thing can be dialed in. It needs thrown out and taken back to the...

Was finally able to try this place out after the initial hype died down a little bit. Used to love eating here in the past and was excited to get some ice cold homemade root beer in a chilled mug again. Unfortunately I left a bit disappointed. The servers were great and quick to take our order. I order fried pickles, smash burger and root beer and my boyfriend ordered smoked brisket, Mac n cheese and coke. With a tip our order came to $29. My smash burger was good and my boyfriend enjoyed his smoked brisket. Neither of our drinks came in a chilled mug, the coke was flat and room temperature and the root beer was also room temperature and had a gnat floating in it. The fried pickles were good but the breading was too thick which made them mushy. The mac n cheese was just okay and was mostly cheese sauce. I’m sure we will likely return to try more items but this place could definitely use some improvement and unfortunately isn’t what...
