A friend of mine and myself met at The Flight Deck for dinner last night. We had been looking for someplace to meet between our two homes and he suggested the Flight Deck. I was skeptical because itās in the Rochelle Airport. Iām glad we decided to try it out.
We went on a Wednesday night, and it wasnāt very busy. There was a large group there, but plenty of tables available. The tables/booths do need so updating as they are starting to show the signs of age. Open ceiling, standard bar dĆ©cor, patio area, view of the runway⦠This is a standard bar and grill. Nothing fancy.
As for the food. I ordered the mozzarella sticks and the Black N Blue Brisket Burger. The cheese sticks were of decent size, had an okay flavor. I feel they were a little over cooked, but they were still good. The burger was above average. Definitely better than anything you get at a fast food restaurant and the fries were also above average. Over all the food isnāt anything wowing, but itās good and I did enjoy my meal.
Now hereās the selling points: !) for all of my Gluten Free peeps out there. They can replace the bread on any sandwich with a gluten free wrap for a $3 upcharge. 2) Everyone one of their signature drinks can be made alcohol free, thus turning them into Mocktails. I ordered a blackberry hibiscus mule mocktail and my friend got the same with alcohol. We both thought they were delicious.
Our service was good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We had no issues. I think this might be a regular stop for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame by for a quick lunch on the road trip expecting a clean, comfortable and pleasant experience. Their menu is impressive. Took us an hour to get our food, which we spent observing the dirty tables around us. Throughout this time, we witnessed the waitress (who appeared to be the only one working) exasperatedly and disrespectfully berating customers for sitting at dirty tables (they were all dirty). When the food finally came out (we were about to get up and leave) the chicken in my sandwich was inedible, cold, overcooked and impossible to bite through. When we asked the waitress to bring us our check and remove the chicken and the mandatory 18% gratuity, she argued with me, telling me it was one or the other. I asked to have a manager talk to us and she said there was none and that she would be happy for us to call her. I told her that was unbelievable behavior and she said, āsorry I was busy.ā Two stars because she came back out, said āyou guys are all good, Iām sorry for my behavior, it was unethical,ā and proceeded to take back other peopleās food to remake it. I did however, leave happy, because I donāt ever have to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I recently had our wedding and reception in the hangar here. At the very beginning the event coordinator was very nice. As they received more of our money attitudes began to change. On the day of our wedding , she didn't even bother to show up. We were told she was sick only to find out she was partying in Arizona. Our food was undercooked ( raw potatoes and bloody steaks) chicken was good. Our cake was being cut and then it just disappeared so half of our guests didnt get any cake. Not even a doogy bag put aside for me ( bride) and I never did get any food which we paid too much for. My cake had to be hunted down the next day . We tries to discuss pur issues with them only to be told contacr our lawyer. This is just a few things that went wrong. We were lied to about a lot. Their own staff didnt even have nice things to say. One of the employees thought my husband was their new help and told him good luck and hoped he was getting paid for the good work he was doing while we decorated. My wedding was successful because of Our family and friends pulling together and making it so. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THEM...
