When you are traveling between Houston and San Antonio, just off of I-10 in downtown Flatonia is a hidden gem of Casey Lee's Family Craft BBQ. A true destination for foodies and BBQ aficionados! Their ingredients are truly Farm to Table and also feature Heart Brand Beef This past Saturday, one of their specials was a dry brined double bone pork chop served with chimichurri. My sides were potato salad, just like my mama used to make and some fabulous cream corn with poblanos. A friend enjoyed their smoked brisket burger which they hand grind with brisket and the perfect ratio of fat and then smoked low and slow. I ordered a small amount of tri-tip to taste and wish I had ordered more for the weekend for steak and eggs or a killer steak salad with bleu cheese! They have some fan favorites which are featured each Saturday and post their weekly specials on Facebook and Instagram. If you need catering for a large gathering, wedding or reunion, be sure to give Casey and...

LOVED this place! Live in Houston and it is WELL WORTH THE SHORT DRIVE.

Amazing food and the staff treats you like you’re their own family.

Menu is ever revolving and it’s a totally different take on Texas BBQ. You can get the Texas staples and then get those dishes unique to Casey Lee’s (that pork belly fried rice is next level…). Have gone out multiple times cause you can’t miss it when they do their brisket burgers and tacos. There ain’t a bad thing on the menu.

Great little spot on the weekend. Family owned and operated, staff is unbelievably nice and hospitable. It’s outdoor seating so the kids can run around and play while you eat. Can go next door to the town watering hole, Henry K’s, and eat inside, watch the game and have a beer.

GET THERE EARLY! They sell out quick cause it’s so damn good.

I give em a follow on Facebook cause they post the menu each week to see what new concoctions they come up with each weekend.

I had a friend recently who had told me about Casey Lee's in Flatonia and I decided to give it a try on my way back from San Antonio. They have a great small town ambience, it's counter service and outdoor seating.

I got the beef brisket, pork belly fried rice, and the pork & beans. The beef brisket is some of the best I've had in a very long time. Very smokey and flavorful. The pork and beans tasted great with the brisket. I've never had pork belly fried rice before, but this might be my new favorite BBQ side dish. It's borderline euphoric.

The service was great, the owner and his wife were working the counter and pit and were hospitable and friendly.

I'll be going back next chance I get since this might be my new favorite BBQ along Interstate 10 and is head and shoulders above most of the places I've been to in Houston. Small town gems like this are getting harder and...

This places smokes any other BBQ place I’ve tried. There’s a reason they sell out every Saturday. No matter what they have on their ever-changing menu, I promise you WILL NOT be disappointed. Plus, the owners/staff are some of the most genuine, personable people you’ll ever meet. ***Pro tip: Check the menu via their social media a few days prior to the weekend, and go early. Like set your alarm early. Would hate for you to be the poor soul left crying into your coleslaw (which is incredible, by the way) after the last specials are served. And whatever you do, try everything. The only regret you’ll have here is not ordering enough. Five stars. Two thumbs up. One round of applause for the chefs, and a happy, full belly. 👏

I have visited Casey Lee's three times. The first time I tried as much of the menu as I could. The tritip, dino rib, and coleslaw were standouts on that visit. My carb eating companions enjoyed the fried rice. The addition of brisket to the menu on my second and third visits was great - well balanced smoke and tender slices. Yesterday, I also tried the smoked cornish game hens, which were perfect for a hot summer day. Delicious and not too heavy. I enjoy the cilantro and cashews in the refreshing cole slaw on every visit. It's worth a trip to the charming town of Flatonia and I look forward to their addition of more dining space.
