I was from out of town. First time here. Had soup and salad and two glases of wine. No complaints about food itself. I was greeted immediately at door and bar. After recieving my glass of wine it got what i call real chaotic behind bar. Was 20 minutes by time lady bartender realized i was ready to order. Got food and continued to watch the crew and customers around me. I finished my meal and no one checked on me the whole time in spite of 10 or so servers/bartenders in and out behind bar in all this time. When someone took my plates they didnt ask how things were or if needed anything more. I finaly caught someone and asked for second glass of wine and my tab. I got wine and no tab. Had to ask a third person for that half hr later. Too many people running in and out of bartenders area and everyone very distracted. I did notice if you were a regular/ local you got paid way more attention. I felt pretty much ignored having to ask for all i needed. When i was given tab and when i left there was no thankyou or anything. Just a comment outloud for all to hear on how much my tab came to. What i spend is no other customers business. It should have been handed to me to look at...i didnt even get that. He walked over and told me how much it was...outloud in front of everyone. No tab to look over or anything. This is not how a 4 to 5 star priced restaurant should be run. Doubt i will be back and i am in Texas...
Read moreOnce again my family and I we're coming through the beautiful little town ofFlatonia Texas. We decided to stop and get something to eat. There are not a whole lot of choices in Flatonia. Just one steakhouse called Robert's steakhouse. We have stopped there a couple of times before and we're very disappointed in the service. Our waitress was the manager of the restaurant and was very rude and snotty. Three of our six orders where completely wrong even after we had her repeat them to us. When the bill came and we went up to pay and told her that we where are displeased with the service and the food and that we had spent more than we had planned on spending because the orders were so wrong. We asked 4 the difference in what we ordered and what she charged us for. This manager of this Roberts in Flatonia Texas was rude and disgusting. My husband and I and four grown children we're told but if we didn't like it not to ever come back again. We will never go back there again and encourage anyone passing through Flatonia to eat anywhere but Roberts Steakhouse. Every hotel, convenience store and business we have been to in that town has charming friendly people. Robert's Steakhouse is the exception. We will tell all of our friends not to go there. My husband is also friends with he former mayor and the owners of a couple businesses we will ask them to please boycott this restaurant. #WORST...
Read moreI'm undecided about my experience here.
We arrived on a packed Saturday night, and it did take a bit to get seated. It wasn't an unacceptably long wait, but not super fast.
The service was great! Absolutely fantastic, even though the now hiring sign made me think they would be understaffed. Our drinks never went empty and the server was super friendly and prompt.
The food was, how should I put this, acceptable. My medium ribeye came out with a large amount of char all over. To cover the dryness, they pile butter on top right before they serve it. The cook was exactly medium, despite the charring indicating otherwise. My son's chicken fried steak was absolutely gigantic, however there was twice as much breading as steak which made it almost inedible. All the meals at our table followed that pattern, almost good but just not. I'd be interested to see if their medium rare comes out better than their medium and will make another trip to determine if it was just a bad night.
The cleanliness of the restaurant does need some attention. I noticed multiple things that had obviously not been cleaned in years (don't look at the entrance chandelier). I'm sure if they weren't short staffed some of it would be fixed, however the overall appearance needs attention.
I'll return and give it another go before I make a...
