When I first walked in the young lady was on a personal call and the store phone was ringing. She didn't acknowledge me at all. She answered the store phone and took their order before greeting me. The restaurant itself smelled and looked clean despite the shabby exterior. Unfortunately our food didn't smell or look right. I had 3 of my 5 wings that were black inside, bone and all. My mom ordered a 4 piece broasted chicken dinner but instead got a 5pc wings with 4pc written on the box. Her wings were so overcooked they were hard. The Mac and cheese is just elbow macaroni that they're dumping a handful of cheddar cheese on and heating up in the microwave. The beans had no flavor except black pepper. Just like the classic hole in the wall eatery, there's not much too see on the outside and I was a little curious about hand dipped ice cream at a chicken shop. But man once I started ordering it became clear. I happened to choose the perfect time to visit when they were in the middle of get a delivery of fresh local made cakes, including my favorite- peach cobbler! That was the best peach cobbler I've ever had and the hand dipped ice cream on top just sent it over the edge, it all made sense now. Being it was my first visit I stuck with the standard 5piece wings, the dry rub flavor was amazing almost like a lemon zest or something and the fries were insanely good. My daughter and her supervisor ordered lunch @ the Beecher / Calkins rd location and the kool-aid tasted odd. So as a nurse the ladies did a drug test on the kool-aid and discovered it contained a few narcotics ranging from molly, benzo, and another opioid. WOW & then she went and ordered another kool-aid and tested it right in front of the owner and guess what same results. He tried to be mean & loud when she was quiet and respectful. Yes the cops, news, radio station, & health department were called. The most disturbing thing I noticed was that right after she proved to him in his face that it contained drugs.
