Hugo’s Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Florence

Stopped by Hugo’s because we loved his other restaurant in Florence when we lived there. Restaurant was clean and inviting.

We were seated and greeted immediately! Hot chips and spicy salsa were brought fresh to the table.

Menu had a lot of variety with a twist. Not your average Mexican menu!

I chose the Hawaiian Bowl. Seasoned steak, chicken, shrimp, pineapple and chorizo served over rice and whole beans with pico and cheese sauce.

This was amazing!! Couldn’t ask for a better meal!

Reasonably priced! Service was excellent! This would be our Mexican restaurant of chose if we still lived here, hoping they expand to Birmingham. LOL

We traveled in to Florence from Mississippi to visit family. We used to live in Florence, so we were familiar with all of the Mexican restaurants, but had recently heard about Hugo opening a location. All we heard was positive reviews, so we decided to give it a chance. We were extremely pleased with our decision. The atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly. I recently visited this establishment, and I have to say the cleanliness was a definite plus. The environment was also very welcoming, which made for a pleasant dining experience. I ordered the Chile Verde with chicken, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The dish was rather bland and lacked flavor, and the portion of chicken didn’t seem worth the price.
