Ok, I said that I would update this review. And, I will say this. The owner was nice enough to give me a full refund. So, I have to say Kudo's to the owner for doing the right thing. So thanks. Ordered 2 bacon cheese burgers to go on 05/12/2023. It was 30 mins till they closed. At, first when I walked into place my order the young man said the kitchen was closed. Then, he said.... Would you please wait for one moment and walked back to the kitchen. Came back and said what would you like to order? I said I wanted 2 bacon cheese burger meals Togo. He, rang up my order which was over $20.00. I then went down to the local convenient store while they were preparing my meal. Or so I thought that they were. I came back to Melanie's bar & grill to pick up my Togo order. When, it hadn't yet been made. Because, the young man that rang up my order told me that they were starting to prepare my 2 burgers and that it shouldn't be much longer. Mind you, I ordered my Togo order at 9:33p.m. I returned from the store back to Melanie's at 10:07p.m. I know for a fact that I sat there waiting for my meal another 10 minutes so that would have the time at 10:17p.m. He then brings my order finally to me. I go home. Open what I thought? Was going to be this flamebroiled hamburger meal with freshly cut french fries . Needless to say it was the total opposite. The hamburger itself was a pretty good sized 1/4 lbs so the hamburger patty was a pretty good size I will give them that. But, as far as everything else the burger meat had no flavor it tasted like it was fried instead of flamebroiled the bun was wet the salad fixing were stale and the french fries were frozen packaged fries. Now, I know that I should not have assumed that the burger would be flamebroiled or that the fries were freshly cut fries. But, for as long as I waited for my meal and what I paid for it. One could only assume. The worst hamburger I've eaten in a long time. I'm going today to take back the uneaten meal to Melanie's bar and grill. I do expect to get a full refund even though the young man never offered me a receipt. They should know their own hamburgers. Right? Well, I will give an update on how they handle my situation. I will say this. It will be interesting to say the least. Wether Melanie's bar and grill is truly 100% customer satisfaction or if they refuse to give me a refund because I don't have a receipt that I was never given in the first place. I can almost bet you that this mom and pop grill will refuse to give me a refund and will tell me that I'm on my own. This is why I will give an up date to see if Melanie's bar and grill is going to stand-up and do the Right thing instead of sending me on my way one really irritated...

Having worked in the food industry as a manager, batlrtender and waiter to get through college, I am very aware of what it takes to be successful and am.very lucky about my waitstaff. Once I find someone who can do a treat job I always ask for them.
Last night ask for Heidi (one if best waitresses I have ever had) but she was working in the back. No problem, I was set and then had a guy, Raul I believe that came up. First of all, didnt approach until I had been there for several minutes. Then come up and starts calling me "boss." There is notng worse than someone coming up and start calling you "boss." when I am not your boss. It is VERY condescending and rude!! When I told.him I wantd a water, he leans over and tries to force me to buy beer. No, I want a water and an appetizer to start. I get my water and then don't get any refill when it is out until he brings my appetizer out. Despite him walking by my table several times and seeing the empty glass.
When the appetizer is brought out, he gets my order and then doesn't stop by my table again, and I am there for an additional extra hour. I was kissing food on my plate and he didnt even come.check my plate to see how it was. I am.very lucky for Andrea and Twila for coming by and taking care of my drinks and food. They were hostesses but actually ended up having to act as a waitress.
I go here fairly often and never had any issues, especially enjoy the $3 queso and chips. However, this guy was terribly rude and did not display any customer service!! I will still go back but will.make sure Indo not get Raul.... Only other thing I would change is that for how much Mexican they sale, they need to play bachata, tejano or other Spanish music. Give it a try and make sure you ask...
Β Β Β Read moreWent there Saturday night about 5:30PM, the parking lot was pretty empty. That should have been a warning sign, but we were hungry and willing to give the place another chance. Upon entry, we saw only 2 tables were occupied in the entry room. So they sat us in a booth towards the entry. Explained the scan menu to us, which is so small you have trouble trying to read much less see and almost impossible to order from. A lady saw us struggling, so they brought a paper menu. Not much better, it run off bu a copier with very light print. Not much in the selection process either. Only had 4 steak selections., limited chicken and fish. Our favorite steak is ribeye, but not for $21.00 a person! So we ordered Mexican Food. Husband ordered beer on tap , water for me. Got stale chips and runny salsa. The food came and the presentation was awesome...but, the food was very bland and came in small portions for the price. The entire time, our waiter was more interested in conversation with the other wait staff and checkers than wait on us. Had to call him over to get a spoon for the salsa, then later again for the water my husband ordered with his meal, then for tortillas. Then again for the check. It's all digital, even the checkout. Would have left a comment on the receipt, or online, but not given the options. Funny thing, we were there over an hour and nobody else came in. Guess most people gave it a chance as we did, but probably won't be back. That's sad, because initially, the place was great. Think it's snake bit? Save your money and eat at home rather than...
