I've been coming to Florida for a good part of the year every year since 2013, and ever since this place opened up it has become the one spot that my brother and I always eat at while in the panhandle. There's a couple of reasons; the first and most obvious is that the food is incredible. The barbecue doesn't even really need any sauce because the flavor is so strong without being overpowering that you can eat comfortably and appreciate the smoked flavor of the meat more than the sweetness of any sort of sauce. The sides are made with love and care - The baked beans in particular have a treacly stickiness that indicates that they have been cooked the right way for a long time. The banana pudding is made to order, so quickly that even if you are watching them make it you might miss it. It tastes so good it'll make you slap your grandma in the mouth. The staff is all extremely friendly, I was just there recently and I was taking a small video, and the owner offered to let me take a video of the smokers, which I did. He didn't have to do that but he's just a genuinely friendly guy doing what he loves for a living. If you can't appreciate eating at a place like that, I don't really know what to tell you. I highly recommend any fan of barbecue come here to eat... Or to play Golden tee golf, which is the best restaurant arcade game...
Read more3 Sons BBQ met my expectations almost 100%. We visited while on vacation in June '24. Kid's eat Free on Mondays with adult meals purchased. The kids meal's were not skimpy either - a full meal for the kid's with leftovers. Such a great promotion, so go while they're still running it. The 1/2 rack of ribs were amazing! I tried a couple sauces and enjoyed them. The roasted veggies were almost the star of the show somehow.... amazing side dish. Add a little bbq sauce on top! The baked beans were pretty basic, but they had a nice smoke flavor and enough diced bell peppers to add some flair. Not the best ever, but solid nonetheless. Brisket on my wife's Mac and cheese was good. Juicy and flavorful. Corn bread - this was the only miss of our visit. It didn't seem fresh - it was very crumbly. I thought it was expensive for the size that it was, which was odd because the rest of the portions+taste vs price were different. Again, this was the only miss in my opinion. Atmosphere was great and the employees were really friendly. Staff circled the restaurant making sure customers had what they needed and cleaned tables promptly.
Next time we vacation in the area, I'll definitely plan on making a visit again....
Read moreI placed a to-go order yesterday evening, July 5th and unfortunately was terribly disappointed. For $29, I received open faced chicken that was definitely not pulled and was hard, dry, cold and had no flavor. I didn't end up eating the chicken. The shells and cheese explains itself and that too was cold. The pork was pulled but no real flavor and was cold. Slaw was vinegar based and was ok...too much vinegar in my opinion and was better on the sandwich then by itself. We added our own Wickle Pickles for a little kick to the pork sandwich. I had asked for pickles and didn't get those.
I asked the hostess at the bar what type of BBQ sauces they offered....tomato, vinegar or mustard based or a white sauce and she simply said we offer BBQ sauce. Ok! Sauce would have been better placed in the boxes as ours spilled in the bag so we didn't have much sauce.
These 2 orders should have been the easiest to prep on your menu, yet the worst I've seen.
I asked if they offered a local discount and she said yes, but when she gave me my check it was the same, no discount had been applied.
I'm excited to have a new BBQ spot in the area, the bar area looked inviting and we'll try again but will wait...
