For many years my friends and myself have been riding our Harleys from Miami just to come to this little place we’ve always loved. Dog can attest to this statement. We’ve always had fun, loved the food, enjoyed the live music, and have made many friends along the way. On Saturday March 6th 2023 this was not the case. My friend and I arrived and although there is a sign at the entrance that clearly reads “wait to be seated” with no hostess greeting customers, we proceeded to sit ourselves down mainly because the restaurant was three quarters empty. Waitresses were sitting on a bench on their phones so we figured this would not be a problem. BIG MISTAKE. They walked past us a few times ignoring us for about 15 plus minutes. I finally asked a young lady by the name of Christine and with a very heavy tone she replied “you have to wait to be seated at the entrance” to which I got up, walked back to the entrance and then she proceeded to pick up two menus and I already could tell this would not end well. She seemed very angry just by my very presence. Sally then came to us and she was very pleasant. Sally brought two beers very quickly and some peel and eat shrimp. Then we ordered the conch fritters and while we waited, Christina and Megan kept looking directly at our table and laughing loudly as if they were making fun of us. My friend and I decided to cancel our food order and leave because we felt so offended by this treatment. On the way out after we paid, Megan yelled at us and said “you’re not welcomed back here again.” It’s not only our business they banned from the restaurant, but the business of at least 30 bikers who will not be returning. As you know, is bikers stick together in brotherhood. We don’t tolerate disrespect of this fashion. We will miss those conch fritters, and we will miss seeing dog behind that bar. That is one cool dude, and he’s the best you’ve got. We rode our bikes to Black point marina yesterday after this horrible experience with those waitresses and we were greeted and serviced as we expected to be serviced at Alabama Jacks. I suggest to anyone to stay away from this place until major changes are implemented. Very...
Read moreWanted to find a lunch spot for the drive down to Key West. I would've preferred something a little closer to half-way, but the second half of our drive went fast while we talked about how awesome this place was. Taking this detour added 10 minutes overall to our drive down. So worth it.
Pulled up at 2pm and wondered if we'd be safe going inside. Thank god we did. It looked like an absolute disaster outside in the best possible way. This is everything a roadside stop should be. Just a bunch of decent fried food in an amazing atmosphere right on the water.
Sure, I got 13 mosquito bites while trying to eat (next time, I'll bring bug spray). Sure, the waitress dumped one of our entrees on the ground and had to have it re-made. Sure, they ran out of the drink I ordered and i had to change my drink order twice to accommodate. Who cares.
As a ridiculously huge added bonus, during our one-hour visit, we had both a manatee and a crocodile swim by. Add in the barracuda that shared the remnants of my shrimp entree when I dumped it into the water post-meal, and this was the best "zoo" I...

So this is Alabama Jacks famous for all their seafood grub. That was me mumbling as I stepped away from our car. I couldn’t wait to try this place out in the middle of No Man’s Land while staying in the Florida Keys.
I immediately snapped a few photos of the outside before walking in to be seated. Luckily the place wasn’t crowded and we were able to sit anywhere we wanted. Our waitress took our drink order which was Raspberry Iced Tea as she handed us the menus. Both the wife and I decided on the Small Seafood Sampler consisting of Steamed Shrimp, Fish Fingers, Conch Fritters, 2 Crab Cakes and 3 side dishes of your choice.
What a platter of fishiness for the money with everything tasting magnificent. My real enjoyment came eating the massive Conch Fritters that were so crisp to perfection yet soft inside. My only grip would have been the iced tea as it wasn’t that great. This place is everything you read about wrapped in a box. It may not be fancy but you got to admit once you bypass the place itself the food...
