Great Pizzeria with other food options
Living in the Tarpon Springs area, it’s not often a new Pizzeria starts up in the area. While we have a couple of good options, I think many people were excited to see a Bella Pizzeria and Grill open up in the building of Keystone Rd and George St. We decided to do take-out this time. We ordered a variety of food: Meatballs and Bruschetta for an app, Mediterranean Pizza (16”) and Piccolo Italian Pizza (16”), Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken, and Lobster Ravioli.
The key with all restaurants is Ambience, Service, and Food.
We arrived at the pizzeria to pick up our food, and the curb appeal and décor in the restaurant were spot on. I was surprised to see how much they invested in making the place look amazing. It is very welcoming. They have a front patio and an indoor seating area that feels like you are sitting down with your family for Sunday dinner.
Service: while we didn’t eat there, the pickup experience was scattered and chaotic. They didn’t seem like they knew what was going on. Are food pick was at 4:53 on a Sunday. There were only two couples in the restaurant. When we told the hostess we were picking up an order, she handed us two pizzas and said, “Enjoy the pizzas.” We were a bit confused because we ordered a bunch of other food. She had no clue. Luckily, I brought our receipt that showed all the food we ordered. It seems there are two areas: the pizza area and the regular food area. She didn’t realize we had additional items. She got the rest of the food, and we left to go home around the corner, 2 minutes away.
I get it was take-out. We literally picked up our food as it was being packaged. We live 2 minutes away. When we got the food home, we first noticed the food was warm but not hot, so I cranked on the oven to heat some of the pizza up.
Pizza – Excellent. Love the crust. The sauce on the Piccolo was fantastic. The most important thing was spot on – the pizza was very competitive with the pizzas in the area. I’m pretty sure we will get our pizzas from there moving forward.
Meatballs – Excellent. You can tell they are homemade. Great flavor with a great sauce. Needed to heat them a little, but overall definitely must have again.
Bruschetta – Also was very good. The Bread was perfectly toasted. The topping was generous with a nice balsamic drizzle.
Lobster Ravioli – It was OK but not great. Definitely not homemade. The ravioli themselves weren’t really stuffed with Lobster. They seemed prepacked and processed. It was a little light on the internal ingredients. The sauce was pretty good, but the main ravioli were not living up to the hype.
Fettuccini with Chicken. I don’t think you can screw up Fettuccini. You can tell the pasta is not made in-house, but that’s to be expected. The sauce was good as well. My only complaint is that it seemed like the chicken was pre-packaged and processed.
Now most of these Pizzerias can’t make all their food in-house. I understand some stuff has to be pre-packaged. However, you do need to make sure the product represents you well.
The only suggestion I could make is to fix the website. There were mistakes on the website, and there are NO descriptors of the menu items. So you know they have a Patriot Favorite Pizza, but who knows what’s on it? They need to put descriptors on the website so you know what you are getting. In addition, having a picture of the actual menu on the website could help.
Overall – it’s a great Pizzeria with additional food options. Definitely, a place to go and have a nice family night eating pizza. I need to try a few more of the entrees, but I wasn’t overly impressed with the two we picked. Definitely not the Finest Quality Italian Cuisine. I would absolutely recommend people try this place, and they seem to be on point with...
Read moreI ordered take out via the app. When I walked in the guy at the counter was gathering my order. I told him that I had heard a lot of good things about this place. He asked if it was my 1st time and I said yes. Then he introduced himself as Patriot, the owner and how he just opened 3 months ago from Connecticut. Very nice! The place was busy at 630 on a Saturday night. I ordered meatballs and the Mediterranean pizza. I didn't know what to expect with the meatballs.....how many....the size, etc. There were 2 meatballs the size of pool cue balls in a red sauce topped with parmesan cheese. The sauce was wonderful. I could see and taste the spices, it is a great sauce. The meatballs were super soft. I couldn't taste any fillers and they were very tender, I highly recommend. The only thing I would change is the option to add ricotta cheese, I would so pay extra for that. The Mediterranean pizza has a white sauce with spinach, red peppers, olives, EVOO, and garlic. Very flavorful and the crust was great (I prefer a thin crust and was not disappointed). I can only image how much better it is when served at the restaurant right from the oven. I have tried every pizza place in the area and I have found my new fav place! I'm looking forward to trying the calamari, calzone...
Read moreOrdered pizza to go online; was given a 45 min time. We went to pick up the pizza and we're initially told and extra 10 minutes. About 30 minutes into the wait I started listening to the staff talk and found out that it hadn't been put in yet. We should have been told that as soon as we walked in.
Our wait ended up being twice as long...we were in the restaurant for 45 minutes before we got our pizza.
To be fair, the pizza was good, but the wings were not. They had obviously been waiting since the initial time and were dried out and not good.
When we got our pizza after waiting for so long, I asked the owner about it. The response was that he had 200 pizzas before us. Honestly, that upset me the most. I'm recovering from surgery related to my breast cancer and I try not to stay out in public that long. I wasn't given the option to make a choice here. I'm now sorer than necessary after sitting on the hard benches.
As a customer, I was told I'd have pizza in 45 minutes, and when that time was doubled without warning or apology, I was instead told about the restaurants process problems. He didn't acknowledge the discomfort of inconvenience I had waiting because he didn't set expectations right. I'm disappointed and doubt...
