Cantina Louie (Ponte Vedra, FL) — Restaurant in Florida

This is undoubtedly the WORST experience I have ever encountered in recent memory. To start off with upon entering the hostess seemed put out that I was there and wanted to be seated. Never smiled or greeted me or my family. The place was virtually empty at the time. She then proceeds to take us to an obviously dirty table, when there were plenty of what I assumed clean tables all around us. As I stood there the hostess took a napkin from the holder and wiped food off the table which landed at my feet. My request for someone to please wipe the table off was met with silence. As my wife went to set a menu down she says "don't set that there the table's dirty". It's alright for me to set at a dirty table but don't get the menu dirty. At this point the hostess walked back to the front. I told my wife let's sit at a different table. We moved to a different table and there was food crumbs on the napkin dispenser. At this point I had enough and told my family to leave. My wife says good bye to the hostess. Once again we were met with a blank stare. Not once did she ask what happened or why are you leaving. Obvious to me she didn't give a rat's behind about it and probably was glad we left. I will never darken the doors of this restaurant again and I drive by it at least 8 times a week. I will go hungry first. I do wish I had taken notice of her name so I could give her due credit. My advice is to steer clear of this place and try out the pizza joint that's right there. In case you're wondering what I did after that. Well, I drove all the way to Jacksonville to find a decent Cantina Louie to eat at. As a side note I wrote the cooperation headquarters twice and received no response. I guess they don't give a rat's behind about good customer...

I have been going to this location for four years. It has slowly been declining, service wise. Although we only live a block away, we have been going to other places. Well, today I tried to give them another chance. I will not make that mistake again. We were seated quickly, then it was about 5 minutes before we saw a server. That is only thanks to another server who went and told him. -they were not very busy. I order a drink and our food, once the waiter came over. The food came out very quick, and it was good. However, it would be a while before we saw our server. By the time he came back, I asked for the check. I noticed there was a drink charge on it, that I didn't receive (I just thought he didn't hear me ordef it). Once he dropped the check off, that is when I started getting irritated. Instead of coming to take the card, he stood behind us for about 10 minutes, just talking to a customer. Like they were old friends. Which, I can appreciate, but I was ready to leave. To his credit, when he finally came back over, he said sorry about the drink, and removed it from our bill, then gave me the drink in a to-go cup. So, he did try to make up for it. Which I would have appreciated if he just didn't take so long. We were there probably 30 minutes longer than we needed/wanted to be. That was the last straw for us, we will not...

Our first visit after hearing neighbors rave reviews about Cantina Louie's! It didn't disappoint! Our server, Esteban, was delightful, helpful and attentive ... Speedy service! Fresh, fresh veggies in my C.L. salad along with a very generous amount of delicious marinated chicken! Brought 1/2 of the salad home! Husband had a Fajita Quesadilla that he loved! He said the same thing: Delicious chicken, fresh veggies and a generous meal! Looking forward to another visit w friends to Cantina Louie's! 👍👍👍👍👍.

April 15, 2019: Update: We made 2 more visits to Cantina Louie's on Hwy1, Nocatee, and neither visit was as good as the first! Esteban was a unique server! The 2nd sever was "meh", the 3rd was just "regular". The food the 2nd time, when we ordered spicy shrimp tacos and a beef burrito. The shrimp was not only overcooked but also unappetizing looking. We decided those meals were a fluke because the first meals were so exceptional, so we tried sgain. Third time we reordered the same food we had the first time. My salad greens n veggies were fresh n good as was the dressing, but the chicken in both of our meals was overcooked, dry. We ate our meals and decided to take Louie's off our list for the time being. May try it...
