Service is great, but food is mediocre. Salsa is to sweet. I know it's a TexMex restaurant, so I won't be too harsh on it. Anything with chicken in it simply tastes like canned chicken. It has no flavor and it's just, simply, bland chicken. Their ground beef tastes like ground beef with the typical El Paso brand seasoning. Nothing to write home about, but not offensive at all. I'd personally avoid chicken as your protein choice, and choose other options. In my experience you won't be blown away by the other options, but you won't be too mad either (food is very affordable, so there is that).
With that being said, there are multiple options farther south along Hwy 17 that offer real authentic Mexican food that blows this place out of the water, and for roughly the same prices. Again, this is TexMex, the other options are more "authentic", but the difference in taste and value is very noticeable.
It serves its purpose, though the food was a bit lackluster (in my opinion). I was given FRANK'S when I asked for hot sauce. Are you kidding me? There's a million different Mexican hot sauces out there, and you...
Read moreWe went here for lunch. It looks like a hole in the wall, which inside it's much nicer. Let me tell you about the food. It was horrible! I've never had a taco with beef that was ground beef and was so Bland and Greasy. The refried beans were the worst, along with bland rice, which was dry and lacked flavor. Salt and Pepper would of helped in the cooking process. When we were seated the waitress brought out salsa and chips. Which was good. The rice was supposed to be Spanish rice. It was very bland. I took the salsa and poured it over the rice to give it some moisture and flavor. Had to ask for limes so I can have it for my taco to cut some of the greasiness and also to add some flavor. Unfortunately, you could not get any juice out of limes for they were old. The waitress looked at me like I was crazy for asking for limes. The whole meal was very under seasoned. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Will not return and do not recommend this restaurant! They either need a new chef who seasons and taste their food, or different food products! Also the food tasted like it was...
Read moreThere is a small group of us at work that always call in an order to go about every other Friday. Depending on who answers the phone, you end up feeling like they're too busy to be polite, too busy to take your order, too busy to separate your ticket and too busy for your service. Apparently, business is SO GOOD that they don't need to take call-ins or have any kind of overall customer service. Food is fantastic, white queso is the best (not microwaved, stringy cheese dip), chips are good and I love the salsa. However, "Melody" needs to get some customer service training and how to talk to people over the phone. Maybe she doesn't realize that people who call in orders also leave them a tip and they don't even have to clean up...
