Food tasted ok but not great... Portions were small, considering the high prices. Their salad was only a few strips of cabbage and a tiny slice of tomato. I understand inflation and other factors, but come on... ! Some things are just excessive.
Natural juices were fresh from the "juice from concentrate bottle" and didn't taste well... What they call Chimichurri sauce for a steak is laughable as it was 98% oil with tiny amounts of seasoning at the bottom.
Service was fine, as well as the ambiance; but I do have to draw attention to their policy on tips... as opposed to most establishments, it is a mandatory 15% "surcharge" regardless of the size of the party, and not an option based on the quality of the service you get! When I questioned this at the moment I received my check, I was told "it is legal", that it was done everywhere, and that it was spelled out in fine print on the menu. First and last time at this place! Never thought I would have to become a lawyer, or bring one every time I go out to dinner to check the fine print on menus!!!
Lousy experience, definitely not worth the price!!!
Much better options out there for far more reasonable prices, even in this...
Read moreI heard about Como en Casa from a Columbian friend. My son lived in Aloma Woods a few years ago and if this was there I was missing out! I even went into the smoke shop next door a few times. In any case the day my friend told me about the restaurant my wife and I went to dinner here. Lots of food and man the prices are good. I had the pork chunks and she had the pork chops. It was so much food that my wife basically brought home her pork chops. Her pork chops were excellent. My pork chunks were slightly overcooked but still tender on the inside with a crunchy outer layer. Still worth 5 stars.
There are lots of items on the menu so there is something for all adults. I heard the mofongo and fried snapper are excellent. So I'll definitely go back especially when I go to the smoke shop! We also had the mixed seafood as as appetizer and flan for dessert. My wife also ordered a side of yucca. It was excellent and who says that about yucca?
There's a live band. They were setting up as we were finishing dinner. I think that was...
Read moreI visited this spot a few weeks and was pleasantly surprised. I primarily went there to listen to some music which was great. The evening started off with a gentleman playing the guitar who was ridiculously talented...like seriously, someone gotta get this guy a deal! After him was a group who were also talented, but the music was incredibly LOUD! The first guy's speakers were loud, but they turned it up to a whole other level; I thought I was damn near deaf after I walked out. Please do yourself a favor and do not sit near the door where the band is locate or you will surely bust an eardrum.
While I was there I ended up ordering some food and let me tell you, it was delicioso! I ordered some chicharron de pollo and it was cooked so well I damn near eat my finger, lmfao! Seriously, food was that good. The drinks were also good as well.
Excellent spot and I look forward to visiting this...
