Attempted to eat here on a Saturday night. Have been wanting to check it out since they opened up. Arrived at 8:40 pm CST and was promptly greeted by the hostess and seated. Server came up to us quite quickly and explained to us how the kitchen is very "strict" and closes promptly at 9 pm so we only had 2 minutes to put an order in if we wanted to eat. Knowing that my fiancee can not make a decision on what to order super quickly, especially since this was our first time there and seeing the menu, I asked her what she wanted to do. As our server was just standing there staring at us trying to get us to pick something, we told her we would just go somewhere else then because we would not be able to make a decision that quickly. Worst part is the server clearly did not want to serve us and made no comment or objection of us getting up and walking out. Come to find out as we sat down my fiancee had overheard the server complaining to the hostess for sitting us in her section and for sitting us so late knowing they close soon I guess the server got what she wanted , to not have to wait on anymore tables, by being rude to us and pushing us to leave. It wasn't like the place was empty and we strolled in while they were cleaning up, tables were full of people as well as the bar. I guess it's just me but most restaurants "CLOSE" time is the cut off point when they stop sitting guests. If they want to be closed and walking out the door at 9 pm then maybe they should change their hours.
As for the food I can't attest as we didn't actually get to eat. As we were leaving fresh plates were coming out of the kitchen and it all looked pretty good. Standard seafood restaurant from the looks of it. Would have loved to try the oysters. Sure as heck won't go back without a genuine apology and guarantee that woman won't be our server. I really hate to complain but I've never been treated like that at a restaurant before and this was too over the top for me to not...
Read moreWell... My girlfriend and I was visiting the area and saw the location as we passed by; so we made a U-Turn and went back. Walked in and the hostess said the kitchen was closed even thought we saw the hours of operation was until 9 pm on a Friday night we stated that we just wanted to get a drink at the bar, she said OK. Walked up to the bar and a staff member behind the bar stated LOUDLY that they were closed! I stated the hostess stated the kitchen was closed but we only was stopping to have a quick drink. He stated again LOUDLY as he made the signs with both his hands as cutting his throat; WE ARE CLOSED! I thought this was kind of rude so I told my girlfriend that let's just go and as we walk out the door I see the hostess setting a party of 6-8 people with menus at a table... Still 8:45pm... This place was not very inviting and staff was rude! As soon as we left I called the restaurant to talk with a manager and well phone rang and rang then went to voicemail! I left a message stating how we were treated and what we saw asking a manager to call us back but yet I was waiting to write this review to see if someone would call but a week later and yet still have not heard from anyone! Not sure why the owner would allow these business practices especially on a Friday Night! Maybe the hours should allow to at least 10 on a Friday/Saturday night, most other restaurants would stay open til 11pm on those nights! Closing at 9pm; OK but when patrons come in at 8:45 and refused service, rudely at that doesn't help for return business!
Thank you management for not calling us back! We will never visit your establishment again; while we are in...
Read moreTime,4:30ish Saturday 3/29/2025 After a totally busy day of errands, the hungries hit! Sis suggested a local favorite of hers… a place i’d passed on numerous occasions. First thing i noticed as we pulled in was the abundance of live oak trees throughout the gravel parking lot..here in the south, a shady parking area is premium… even more-so in the summer! Upon entering ,only 6 tables by the windows were taken.. we got the last.. Waitress immediately seated us, returned with drinks and menus.. beer and wine, iced tea and sodas were the choices.. A very good selection of oysters, shrimp, fish All served in various ways. For the non-seafood eaters choices of burgers, chicken tenders or just vegetables were also on the menu.. A children’s menu was available of which I partook.. fried catfish with a side of coleslaw ., both of which were perfection in freshness! The serving was enough to slay the hungries… Sis chose the hamburger on non- hamburger bun ..basically an open faced generous sized hamburger!! Fried okra on the side.. again perfection! Plus a side salad which was way too much.. so it went home in a box.. for tomorrow.. Prices were a bit high for me.. but the place was filled to capacity within minutes after our arrival.. wait time for our selections was minimal.. servers were friendly and helpful. Hours are 11am til..kitchen closes at 9:45 pm Stop in and check it out.,, very laid back non-touristy...
