This Cafe is full of great intentions. You can tell that it was someone's amazing vision once upon a time. The place itself has so much potential and the location is amazing because it has the views of the garden. Simple, casual ambiance, with plain furniture., which is totally fine.
the menu online and there, does not reflect the actual menu items offered. So when you approach the order line, you are left wondering what is available as far as beverage options. Apparently they have some adult beverages, sodas, teas, coffee, and more, which you would not know of unless you asked. Why not have a decent menu that showcases all your offerings? by the way, the ginger lemonade is terrible, extremely sweet with an off balance taste.
Menu options are few and not very appealing. Leaving you wanting just a few more options to choose from. For example, they do not offer a gluten free selection in bread, so if you order a sandwich or a burger, your only option is to omit the bread or eat the gluten! The burger comes with no fries, so you have to order a huge order of fries (family size) if you just want a few. Dessert selection is poor and unappealing. Food items are not terrible, but they are also not fabulous as some reviewers state.
You order first and they bring your order to the table, which is good.
Overall, lots of potential. For the Garden it could be a great source of income considering that a decent offering in food and beverage items would be very popular in a place place like that. They could definitely make it a more refined and wonderful place where garden visitors could end their journey with a refreshing drink, delicious bite, or sweet treat.
Would I return? Perhaps, but considering other option in the surrounding area, this café would not be my first choice. I hope they put the thought into it that is needed as it can be an...
Read moreWhile visiting Marco Island, FL during the winter, we visited Naples Botanical Garden. We dined at their Fogg Café for lunch, and it was a pleasant surprise! This is the only dining location at the Naples Botanical Garden.
The inside was quite large, with plenty of seating. The outdoor seating was a nice size too, but with its popularity, it might not be easy to find a table outside, under the shade.
The menu is not large, as it is a “café” but it had interesting and unique dishes, which was great. We ordered Mango Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad Sandwich, Cubano Al Pastor, and Garden Burger Banh Mi.
The Mango Chicken Salad was placed on top of fresh lettuce, with a beautiful edible flower accent, with side of tostones. Refreshing and a healthier option. Tuna Salad Sandwich had a generous amount of tuna salad, and came with a side of fresh salad, which was great.
Cubano Al Pastor was a nice large portion, and melty cheese and generous amount of meat packed in there. Garden Burger Banh Mi, which is Vegan burger, was smaller than the other sandwiches, but packed with flavor.
We also ordered a Hand Cut Fries for the table to share. This one was a bit heavy on the seasoning, making it a bit too salty and spicy. Other than that, it was crispy and addicting...
I like how unique their offerings were. They also have a few more Gluten Free and/or Vegan dishes to accommodate any and all patrons. There were a few staffs coming around all the tables, picking up plates and cleaning up the tables, keeping the area clean. We had a really nice lunch here, with beautiful views and a...
Read moreThe vegetable flatbread is a very thick pizza covered with too much cheese, too few vegetables and a sickly sweet balsamic glaze. It just didn't taste good. My spouse enjoyed the burger but found the dense side salad inedible. The portions were really too big for one person assuming you liked them enough to eat them so consider sharing if you decide to eat here . Bad acoustics and piped in music made the atmosphere less pleasant . This lunch for two with one drink cost $42. Lovely gardens- but eat before...
