If you're a resident or visiting and you're looking for a place that's the genuine article; look no further. This is not a beach bar. This is not a tourist trap. What this is is the real deal. If you want to experience a place that has a local hometown experience with charm, live music, great food, and o yeah a place that Brews its own nationally award winning beer, then this is the place for you. First off one of the owners is a man named Larry. Despite the place being fairly busy he took time to tell us about the history of Goat Lips and give us a tour. He even picked mull berries off the trees overlooking the charming and roomy outdoor area. This man makes anyone feel like a friend even if you're a newcomer. He's worked hard and put a lot of effort into making Goat Lips an awesome experience. I think this guy is a saint! Truly a quality individual. Anyway, When you pull up you might think it looks small even homey. It's got a lot if different areas and I was surprised how big it actually is. There is the restaurant area up front. It's quaint and homegrown feeling. The food we had, EXCELLENT. Roast beef made throughout the day using the seuveed method which was an unexpected delight. I think maybe the best roast beef I've had in my life. Next is a rustic feeling bar area that has paintings surrounding the room showcasing their various home brewed beers which makes it super quaint. Larry was kind enough to offer us samples. Each one as great as the last. I went with the "Raiders" beer, PHENOMENAL! They are understandably proud of the amazing beer they brew on site and as I said earlier, their beer has won national competitions, so you're going to love it! Lots of different types too. Another area this place shines is the live music area behind the bar. Great musicians in an adorable enclosure will make you want to sink a drink or two or three...etc. If you want a cigarette they've got several areas for that which don't interfere with nonsmokers and don't make you feel like you are offending anybody and you still feel part of the action. You can see the live music from all around. This is a place that feels like it's for locals who are in the know who love meeting new folks and welcome tourists! Sadly, Larry had several businesses along the coast here that were devistated by the hurricanes. Goat Lips is a little more in land but that just seems to make it more special because its off the beaten path yet has more charm than most places on said path. Like I said, it's the real deal. Also, I can't forget to mention the terrific bartenders there. They rock! This place deserves your time and support. Enjoy your new favorite secret spot. I had a magical date night there. I will be visiting for years to...
Read moreArrived around 8 PM, to a couple of people sitting at the bar, where my friend and I sat. There was live music going on outside, but we wanted to order food first before stepping outside to listen to the music. Bartender Kyle was very kind and attentive to each customer including us.
Ordered the jalapeño cream ale, which was amazing! Not overwhelmingly hot, with a nice smooth finish and a little heat hits you in the back of the throat. 6.5% alcohol. Delicious.
Also got the Philly cheesesteak which is made with pot roast that’s been cooking for over 14 hours, mushrooms, peppers, onions, and provolone cheese. I was told by the bartender as well as my friend that this is the best thing on their menu, and it definitely did not disappoint.
I also ordered the Italian sandwich which was amazing as well, and each of their cookies which include homemade chocolate chip, homemade snickerdoodles, white chocolate chip macadamia nut, and oatmeal raisin. They were all delicious as well. I took a couple extra snickerdoodle and chocolate chip Home with me.
Met the owner, who is a super nice guy, and invited us back as any owner should do. The difference was he took the time to introduce himself, ask us what we do and spent probably close to 10 minutes just hanging out with us.
Will definitely be back to this location. Great food, great atmosphere, great staff,...
Read moreHow great is this place? I went twice in one week and I live in Pensacola. The club very possibly might be the best sandwich in Pensacola (or anywhere). The sauce is fantastic and it's a good portion size (comes with a pickle, not sure why that's relevant, but it does). They have several things to choose from on the menu. The owner is such a down to earth guy and they have plenty of seating out front with a fire pit out back. You want local a place? This is it! Just order the club then look over the menu for what you want to order the next time you come back. But when you come back you'll order the club again anyhow because it's insanely awesome. Have I mentioned the club? If the person you're reading this to in the car just asked you if they have other things, tell them yes (they do have other sandwiches, italian dishes, and even mexican), heck tell them what ever you have to so that they don't somehow cost you a chance from enjoying the club. I mean don't lie, but just ask them why they would ask you to look up reviews if they don't trust what the people say on them?
Just to show I am not biased to only say good things. They have pepsi products. That's the only downfall. But who cares when you're eating...
