If youâre searching for a barbecue joint that will make your taste buds dance and your stomach sing, look no further than Hungary Harry's BBQ! Let me tell you, this place is a flavor-packed paradise thatâs as family-friendly as it gets. Itâs the kind of restaurant where you can kick back, relax, and let the smoky goodness wash over you like a warm hug from a long-lost relative.
As soon as you step inside, youâre greeted by the mouthwatering aroma of slow-cooked meats that could turn even the most devout salad lover into a barbecue believer. The decor has that charming, rustic vibe that makes you feel right at homeâlike you just walked into Grandmaâs kitchen, but with way more smoke and a lot less knitting.
Now, letâs talk about the food! My son, the little king of ribs, ordered the kidsâ meal with ribs. I swear, the moment those tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs landed on his plate, his eyes lit up brighter than a Fourth of July firework show. He took one bite and suddenly he was a rib connoisseur, analyzing every smoky, succulent flavor with the seriousness of a seasoned chef. Iâm pretty sure I caught him whispering sweet nothings to his ribsâhe was that in love.
My wife, whoâs usually very particular about her sandwiches, went for the chopped beef sandwich. She took one bite, and I swear I saw the clouds part and a beam of heavenly light shine down upon her. The beef was so tender and juicy it could have had its own fan club! She kept saying, âThis is the best sandwich Iâve ever had!â while trying to control her excitement (and the drips of barbecue sauce that were threatening to escape).
And then there was my glorious chopped pork sandwich. Oh, where do I even begin? The moment I unwrapped it, I was hit by a wave of smoky goodness that made my heart skip a beat. The pork was perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the savory flavors. I felt like a barbecue wizard, casting delicious spells with every bite. I may or may not have started a âchopped pork sandwich appreciation clubâ right there at the table.
We also indulged in a couple of sides that were just as fantastic. The coleslaw was crisp and refreshing, the kind of coleslaw that makes you wonder why you ever thought it was just a boring side dish. And the baked beans? Letâs just say I couldâve eaten a whole bucket of those and called it a day.
As we sat there, enjoying our feast and laughing together, I couldnât help but notice how family-friendly the atmosphere was. Kids were happily munching on their meals, parents were chatting away, and there was a general sense of joy in the air. Itâs the perfect place to bring your family for a casual night out or to celebrate a special occasionâjust be warned: the food may lead to spontaneous dance parties right at your table!
In conclusion, Hungary Harryâs BBQ is a hidden gem that deserves all the accolades in the world. The food is fresh, delicious, and bursting with flavor, and the family-friendly vibe makes it a must-visit spot. So grab your family, your appetite, and head on overâyou wonât regret it! Just be prepared to leave with a full belly and a heart full of...
Read moreNot worth the hype. On the bright side, the portions are very large. We ordered the #3 which said "feeds 2 to 3 people". This was actually enough food to feed our entire family of 5. To put this into context, we are a rather healthy family that eats normal sized meals. However, if you like to gorge yourself and consume 2,000 calories in one sitting, well then, perhaps it does only feed 2 to 3 people. The restaurant is split into two separate buildings. I'm not sure what the main building was like as we only briefly stepped inside when we were told to try for a table across the street. Literally, they make your food in the main building and then walk the tray of food across the parking lot to the overflow room. When you turn into the parking lot, please watch out for servers crossing the street! So, we sat in "The Outhouse" (seriously, that's what they named it.) It's one big room with vaulted ceilings like a barn or small church with only marginal window AC units. I can't imagine how uncomfortable this room might feel in the middle of a hot Florida summer. Maybe this is done intentionally so they can sell more ice cold beer. =) The tables were quite sticky from the BBQ sauce of the many thousands of customers that came before us. At least, that's what it felt like. The time from ordering to food delivery was quite long. I think we waited about half an hour. The food tasted like...(wait for it) regular BBQ! Nothing you couldn't get at just about any other BBQ place. The meat was a little dry but they give you two (yes two!) different sauces to choose from. The beans were WAY too sweet. They could literally be served as a dessert. They also came complete with pieces of aluminum foil mixed in so make sure you inspect every bite. We all laughed at the basket of "toasted" bread they provided. Sure it had "grill marks" on it, but it was so saturated with butter that it was like eating a wet sponge. All-in-all this was a "been there, done that" place that we'll likely never go back to, especially knowing that much better (cleaner, higher quality, better service) options...
Read moreHorrible experience tonight. I will NEVER return to this establishment. Ordered take out (we live 45 minutes away) and when we got home with the $48 order we were missing some items. I immediately called and spoke to Sarah, who was the manager in charge. She first told me to hang on so she could ask the girl who bagged my order to figure out what the problem could be. THE PROBLEM IS THAT MY ORDER WAS MISSING SOME ITEMS!!! She came back on the phone and said that the girl said the items should be in a box so look for a box. I said there was no box and I literally told her everything that was in my bag and everything that was missing. I even took a photo of the items. I returned to the restaurant (45 minutes later) and I asked for the ownerâs information and told the manager I wanted a full refund. I also spoke to her about how I didnât appreciate the way she spoke to me when I called. She said they are trained to ask those questions because sometimes people donât realize they have the items they think they are missing. WHAT?!?! The manager then took my bag of food (the incomplete order) and then tried to refund my money. She said she had no way to give me a receipt showing the refund, but in three days if it hadnât been refunded to call the office and speak to Jamie. So now 45 minutes home with incorrect order, 45 minutes back to restaurant to remedy situation, and then 45 minutes back home. Still with NO DINNER!!!! I will NEVER GO BACK to this restaurant AGAIN!!! Terrible...
