the best Jamaican food in all of Daytona. Trust me, I've been to the other 4 and they can't compete. She cooks with love and you can taste it. Her rice doesn't even need sauce! The Mac and cheese tastes like Thanksgiving Mac and cheese from my deceased grandmother, God bless her soul. I don't eat red meat but when this lady cooks it, I put aside my ethical viewpoint and devour that meal! I nearly shed a tear when I ate this jersey shrimp dish the first time and actually assaulted someone for reaching for my plate, God bless his soul. I don't know what took over me. The food is extraordinary. I have driven from Jacksonville on multiple occasions JUST TO GET This food to only turn around and go back home and drive 2 hours. This is not a paid advertisement. This is me being so moved by good Jamaican food which can be hard to find. My life's trajectory has improved since coming across this restaurant. My moods are improved and I swear I make more money at work the whole week when I eat this. If this woman needed an organ transplant, I would give it to her in exchange for her cooking. I made a phone call before my family and I went to order to see if it was a true Jamaican chef,because I have been to Caribbean restaurants and it’s not the same as true Jamaican food. Just by the accent I knew it was a place I wanted to try. When we walked in a Lady greeted us at the door with a smile and a warm welcome,I believe it to be Jackies daughter. Next we placed our order. My husband and I had Curry chicken rice and beans mac n cheese and cabbage. My daughter had the Jerk Chicken. Needless to say I lost a dear friend that had a Jamaican restaurant and he was true Jamaican. Jackies food reminded me of Patricks,it was delicious. We saved her number so that when we come to Florida again we can eat this sweet ladies food again that she seems to put so much love into. Thanks Jackie!! I just want to share my first time experience I had with this restaurant today and the reason for my low rating based on customer service not the food. I read the great reviews and decided to go and try this restaurant with my sister and son and to my surprise, I was Very disappointed! What turned me right away was, as soon as I opened the door I was NOT greeted with a hello but was greeted with "We have no rice and close the door" before my sister and son could come completely in behind me and us not realizing this place was extremely small for us to even fit in. Soon as I was greeted like this, I immediately told my sister let's Leave and go to our usual Jamaican food spot.
