We usually like to eat at smaller mom and pop restaurants so when we happened to see a sign saying Jeanette’s Place, we decided to give it a try. The 4 of us entered and were greeted with a quick hello. There were a couple other diners eating. We took our seats and placed our order. The men ordered sausage and gravy over biscuits. My friend and I ordered eggs, bacon and grits with white toast. The food looked good when it was delivered. But, I could tell the eggs were not fresh. They tasted old and I had to wipe the grease off my food. The grits were runny, almost soupy. The biscuits and gravy tasted a bit greasy as well. The bacon and toast were good. The biscuits were good too. Coffee was fine but the OJ was nasty. The waitress kept our cups filled but seemed like she was having an off day. Maybe the cook was too. None of us truly enjoyed our food and left hungry. We ended up stopping somewhere else. Would I recommend Jeanette’s Place? Not really. Will we go back? No, sad to say because it’s a cute little place. Just needs to cut back on so much grease when cooking.
Jeanette’s Place, my reviews are about 2 weeks behind, as we has a death in the family later that day after we visited. Hope this helps and I wish you success in your business. We aren’t locals so my reviews are true, honest and quite reliable. I apologize if this review offended you. Reviews from those outside the community tend to be more straightforward. Read morePut Jeanette's Place on your short list of places to try! I've driven by this adorable little place 100 times and never knew it was there. A friend and I were on the hunt for some biscuits and gravy this morning and Jeanette's popped up as a suggestion. When we got there, the menu convinced us both to try other delicious things - huge blueberry pancakes + a wonderful stuffed French toast topped with apples 😋 When I mentioned to the server that we'd have to come back to try the biscuits and gravy, she very kindly brought us out a little sample! I thought that was so nice and something you'd never find at a big chain restaurant. I also saw the server help an older customer out of his seat and out the door. More places should be like that!
Overall it's a kitschy + cute little place that I will most definitely be returning to - gotta get those...
Read moreI'm not typically a review writer, but Jeanette's deserves those 5 stars! The food is exceptional with perfectly cooked eggs (and prettier than I ever made 😉) bacon just right and grits cooked perfectly.Being a one woman show Jeanette is a super woman. My husband and I stopped in within a half hour of closing and ordered. While we were enjoying our meal a customer came in within 5 minutes of closing and was welcomed warmly by Jeanette and was still happy to accommodate the customer even though it was truly time to close. If you want good home cooking in a small town atmosphere Jeanettes is the place to choose!...
