Coming from New York two and a half years ago, like most, I am a huge pizza fanatic. So, naturally, when I got here, I asked around for the best NY style pizza in town. A few people told me about Al's Pizza off of John Young. I tried it and in my own opinion, it did not live up to its reputation. (This review is not meant to degrade another business establishment. It's simply my opinion!) I searched around and could not find a pizza shop that favored real NY style pizza.
I drive through Pleasant Hill every day and decided to stop at Leos one day. I didn't know what to expect so I just ordered their two slice pizza special. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. This was by far, the best slice I had eaten since moving to Florida. I thought it might be a fluke, so a few days later, I tried them again. This time with pepperoni and another slice with sausage..... amazing! I told my brother and my cousin about this place. They each tried it and were instantly hooked. I told my wife about my new pizza spot and she was not impressed. You see, she doesn't really like pizza like that. ( I know, I know, but I love her) 😬 One day, I stopped at Leo's and she decided to try a slice. She was hooked ever since.
We've been back there more times than I can remember. We have always had a great experience. Sometimes it might take them a few minutes longer to complete our order but we never mind because the staff is always pleasant to talk to, they play that Old School NY Freestyle music which we love, and it just feels like a family environment. They are super respectful and accommodating. We've never heard anybody curse or argue in there. It just feels right.
We've had just about every style of pizza that they have. The Stromboli is to die for, the calzone is amazing, the wings are off the hook. They also make Zeppoles. Every pizza shop we went to, didn't even know what a zeppole was. The beef patties, subs, cheese fries, etc. all remind me of NY.
I went in today with my wife and son. We ordered cheese fries and an extra large pepperoni pie, and zeppoles for desert. Our meal was amazing. They already know us since we go there all the time, right before I left, they asked me to critique their garlic bread and pizza sauce..... OMG, probably the best garlic bread I have ever tasted. At that moment, I decided to do something nice for them by leaving them a really good review. Not because it was the right thing to do, but because they absolutely earned it. Give Leo's a try, trust me, you will not be disappointed.
The one negative that I have to say about them is that at this time, they do not deliver. But I understand that they are looking into that possibility, and hopefully sometime in the near future, they will. So please help me try to convince them to deliver. I need my favorite pizza brought to me!

Read moreI changed my review from 1 star to 3 as the Manager of Leo’s, Adonis, called to personally apologize.
We had spoken when I placed my order in regards to my preferences and that it was the first time I am trying them. He remembered and after a bout with GrubHub and issues of their service that’s been ongoing, He wanted to personally apologize and be sure I knew he fought for a refund. I was inclined to believe him as he did not know that earlier the GrubHub Representative had abruptly left a chat while I was explaining/complaining about my order. So in defense of the food quality verses the delivery, I am certain a large part of the problem was the DELIVERY and their DELAY. I will try Leo’s again if I’m able to be there when I do. Thank you to Adonis at Leo’s who was diligent in following up and apologizing. That’s great customer service. My entire order was cold. Also food quality was poor. Subs and garlic knots were stale tasting. The ham and cheese was nothing but mostly bread. It had Maybe 3 or 4 VERY THINLY SLICED pieces of ham for the whole sub. That’s an equivalent to deli slices extremely thin. You mostly had bread and lettuce. The pizza was an extra large cheese pizza, it was cold also, it may have been okay, had it been hot. I still didn’t love the taste.
The steak and cheese sub was like rubber, but was the best out of the two. Still bread tasted stale.
The side salad was the best out of it all. Balsamic dressing was pure Balsamic vinegar, that’s not dressing, just an FYI—I tossed it and used my own.
The knots were ok. They were a little stale tasting, but this could have been due to them being cold, like the pizza, they may have been okay hot.
I don’t know the issue of the cold, but it was delivered by Grub Hub. I will not eat there again NOR recommend it. I can’t believe they have such a good rating. I hate leaving bad reviews but almost $50 bucks in the disposal is...
Read moreIf the owner isn’t behind the counter when I walk in, I might just turn around and walk out. My rant is about the poor guest experience from the staff.
I go to order wings and the lady tells me they can’t do all flats. Which is a lie because I’ve done this numerous times in the past. She then tells me it could be an up charge only if she asks the cook and he agrees. Seriously, this is either a button you can hit on your register, or not. Mind you, I’ve done this in the past, minus the guilt trip with no issue. (I always accept the extra cost) Later, my food comes out incorrect and she insists I ORDERED IT WRONG . The cook from in back agrees with the cashier saying that I didn’t tell him the correct order. (Mind you, I didn’t tell the cook anything. The cashier rang in the order that printed a ticket that told him what to make. DUH!) So now I have a cook and cashier insisting I told them the wrong order and it’s my fault.
My issue is with the staff, minus the guy who I assume...
