Used to love the LH! I’ve been a regular since moving here just over 5 years ago. Happy hour is over at 5. Sure it starts at 11 or noon, I’m not sure, but I rarely drink that early. Every restaurant I know in a 10 mile radius, has a HH that extends till 6 pm. At least show us regular year round patrons some love and extend it to 6 or even 7 off season. Till they do, they will lose me to other businesses. I urge others to speak up with their “feet” or a review as I have.
Additional comment. I’m very disappointed to see the Lighthouse owners have added a credit card use fee in the restaurant. I do not know if it is applied at the bar. This fee is ridiculous, it should be buried in the food costs. The owners are taking advantage of the destruction caused by Hurricane Ian, as many other coastal restaurants have been destroyed. I get it. It’s business, supply, demand. But as a year round client my visits will be far fewer, especially off season.
Invited to a birthday dinner recently. I’m adding to my previous reviews. Very good service and always a nice setting on the water. Can the head chef please advise the cooking staff to NOT add excessive salt to the Risotto accompanying the Lobster w/ app? You CANNOT remove salt, but the diner can always ADD it. It’s a common mistake in non gourmet restaurants and it was almost and probably should have been returned. (The risotto is premade, I’m sure and would have...
Read moreThis was our first time going here and our last. Christmas Eve and we wanted to celebrate by going out. What a huge mistake. The wine, food, and service were subpar and we are not high sticklers. The house Chardonnay was undrinkable. It tasted like cheap Zinfandel from a box. The Caesar salad was inedible. It tasted like unwashed lettuce tossed in mayonnaise. My meal was tepid (room temperature). My husband’s swordfish was over cooked and was as thin as a pancake. His potatoes were swimming in scallions (not in the menu description). Service was also subpar. In the 90 minutes we were there, no one came to refill our water. Waiter brought my husband’s beer without a glass and he refilled my wine by bringing out a little carafe and pouring it into my dirty glass. Then he brought us the wrong check. The one he brought us was $65 and ours was $113. The place was so loud my husband and I had to yell to converse and the music just made it worse. Our Christmas Eve was ruined. So disappointed since the reviews were so good. We will not go back and since we are locals we will not recommend...
Read moreWe visited this past Friday evening. We decided to go a little later so the crowd wouldn't be as bad. It was about 7:45pm when we were seated. We sat at the table until 8:20pm with not one of several wait staff in the same area checking our table. I finally had to get up and ask another waitress who our table belonged to, She said she would check. Still waited at least another 10 to 15 before they could figure out who should have been attending to our table. All the time with at least 2 or 3 other staff waiting on tables around us. Once we did get wait staff, she was apologetic. But truly it was not enough, after being on the verge of walking out. The food some what made up for the initial lack of service. Our party of 4 had tuna tacos app, chicken salad, rib dinner, one with baked potato and the other vegetables, and stuffed shells with meatballs. All the food was very good, but we already had a bitter taste from lack of initial service. Would be skeptical of coming back when I am in...
