We sat down as a party of 3 across from another party of 4 and engaged in conversation with them while they enjoyed their key lime pies and coffee. We waited for our waitress. The restaurant was at about 60% capacity. The live music kept us entertain while the setting sun made us thirsty. We waited for our waitress. Finally we got approached, we asked to start with waters because.... well we were thirsty! We ordered a margarita bucket that took way too long, and by too long I mean we forgot we ordered it. The music was good. Then we went 20 minutes before the waitress returned after trying 3 times to flag her down. We placed an order of 2 appetizers and 3 dinner items. Our apps were dropped of with no silverware or plates we now have 2 apps and 0 drinks or utensils. We got our food and was disappointed at the lack of care in how it looks. I had 1 slice of tomato the size of the rim of a small cup. With 1 leaf of lettuce cut in half, on a supposedly jumbo grouper sandwich. (Doubt the name label) but that's what the menu said it was. Still no silverware. Or offer of refills on water or bar drinks. The waitress was more distracted by the baby that the owner had around her neck.and the other waitresses baby and boyfriend that was there. Still no silverware. Asked the girl that had the baby and boyfriend "over seeing things". For a plate of lettuce and tomato and cheese. And some tartar sauce. And some silverware. You would have thought I punched her boyfriend in the head with the way she looked at me telling me she was not our waitress. I explained that we thought ours got lost. Trying to still make life of the situation. But when the owner approached us as a disgruntled table with her baby on her hip. Said let me take care of your drinks tonight. I hope you will come back. And she stormed away telling up how hard it is to run a business we just don't understand.... I'M HERE TO TELL YOU I TOO AM A BUSINESS OWNER. And I would not sleep an ounce of sleep after talking to someone like that. For the record! We will not...
Read moreWhat a great place. Will start of by saying this is a five star restaurant, but when reviewing restaurants, I like to be honest with my reviews. The reason for my drop in star was due to fact that after carefully review the menu, I decided upon the Fried Gator Wrap (Lettuce, Tomato, Shredded Cheddar, and Homemade Remoudale Sauce) only to learn that they ran out of Gator and the menu item was not available. I get all that is going on in the current world and economy, however I was bummed not to be able to get my first menu pick. Needless to say, I picked something else and it was delicious. Will start from the beginning and say we got there by boat and navigated up the Peace River from Port Charlotte. The ride up was peaceful, and very scenic. We docked near the restaurant and opted for outdoor dinning and was seated quickly. Our drink order was placed and we were quickly served our drinks which included a cold beer which hit the spot. As I mentioned, my first chose was not available, so opted for the Shrimp Po Boy (Battered Shrimp, Cajun Remoulade, Lettuce, Tomato, and Served on a Butter Toasted Hoagie Roll) The sandwich was delicious and it came with fries and a pickle. Also ordered in our group was the Ultimate B.L.T. (Loaded with Bacon, Crisp Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Served on White or Rye Bread) and the Red Fish Snapper (Grilled, Blackened, or Beer Battered and Served on a Hoagie Roll)
While down in Florida visiting from up North, seafood was on my mind, but other non seafood items also looked tasty and would be something I'd order in the future for visits down the road. If you have a small boat, definetly worth visiting if you are close by. Will definitely...

Next, my husband had ordered their "special ", all you can eat shrimp. You got quite a few the first go round but were told you only got 4 each time you asked for more. The 1st time he had blackened shrimp then when it was almost gone he asked for deep fried. After 40 minutes, he was able to catch our waitress and ask about his shrimp. This is what she said: Your order is next. We got busy so it took awhile to get to it. My husband then told her to just change it to a basket then and she said she would have to ask her manager and we reminded her that mine was a basket and only had a different style of shrimp otherwise they were the same. The waitress came back and said her manager said no because he got a bit more of those baby shrimp than if he would have ordered a basket. We both had shrimp and fries. His cost $24.95, mine was $12.95! I had jumbo he had popcorn. You normally get more of a popcorn size especially since they had the tails on them!! The food was good but the experience was so bad we would never return unless they offered us a free meal in exchange for the horrible experience!! I would not...
