We went there today for lunch, after checking the website for the menu decided to give it a try. got there and found out they had changed the menu, prices and actual food on the menu.We went all the way down to try their lobster and corn chowder. We were told it wasn't available now until dinner. the waitress was nice enough to ask if we could possibly get some. We got it at the table,.it was two completely cold cups of chowder. they took it back and warmed it, don't know if I even got my own bowl back. We arrived, just before noon, waiting on food, we didn't leave until almost 2:00 in the afternoon. We each got a cup of chowder and a sandwich. My sandwich was the Italian sub it was so subpar, I'm sure I could have gotten a better one at Wawa. They have no sweet tea, I got charged for a bowl of chowder when we specifically ordered a cup. I couldn't even finish the sandwich, the Italian sub roll was dry, the lettuce was bright green bitter shredded, there was about three slices of meat a little bit of shredded onion and a lousy tomato. this is $15.50 without a side...It was not even worth bringing the rest home. I walked out of there with a bill for $31, not including tip, just for my food. I really wanted to like this place but I can promise you I won't be back. The waitress was kind and the only one in the dining room. it was not busy at all when we got there by the time we were served the food there were maybe four tables.. Save your time and money there are much better places to eat. Having managed a restaurant in the past, I am an advocate for...
Read moreMy family had the pleasure of dining at The Oaks on 44 for dinner on their opening week and we are so glad we did! The staff are incredibly polite and the service was very prompt. Our Server was a gentleman by the name of Gerhardt who gave excellent dining recommendations and left us wanting for nothing. He is a true master of his craft, who takes pride in the service he delivers.
We decided to order a variety of things including salads, chowder, the roast duck, crab stuffed flounder, rigatoni with sausage and broccoli rabe, mashed potatoes, and house vegetables. Absolutely everything was amazing! Even if we tried, none of us could find a single thing to be critical about, and the vegetables especially were remarkably good. My father and I both remarked that we found these to be the best veggies we have had at a restaurant.
In true fashion, dessert also exceeded our expectations! We sampled a variety of things but found that the banana pudding was especially good, and home made!
Overall the portions were very generous, the taste and flavors were absolutely brilliant, and the service was outstanding! In our opinion it is by far the best dining experience in the area. We will definitely be...
Read moreWe dined there Tuesday evening and from start to finish, everything was exceptional! We so appreciated the servers dressed in shirt and tie and the linen tablecloths. Fine dining on a retirement budget! Our server was Gerhardt and he was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food was delicious. There were four of us. Two got the roast beef special and two got the Angelina Fish special. We took advantage of those two specials that night which included a salad, a glass of wine, a very good portion for dinner of entree and vegetables and dessert, which was some of the best cheesecake we’ve ever had. Our glasses of water never ran out as the girl pouring the water made rounds often. The ambiance was cozy and calming, not crazy noisy like so many of the country clubs in the Villages. Would love to come back when the piano player is playing. We were all very pleasantly surprised and will be back...
