Made a reservation for Fathers day for 12 noon. All reservations are seated in doors. But if there are table available, you can sut by the water. That is what we did. We ordered lobster bites, and gator bites for appetizers. The gator was wonderfully prepared and seasoned. The lobster was nicely breaded, and a bit overdone. Typical when frying lobster. We also recieved complimentary fried onions. They were light and not greasy. Very good. My wife ordered the surf and turf. Rib eye, and bay scallops. Both cooked to perfection. Cheese grits were also perfect, creamy and cheesy. Her salad was large. We also order the fired fish sandwich. Which was both cruchy and moist. A great sandwich. We also ordered all you can eat fish. The fish was crispy, light and flacky. We ordered the blue crab with garlic. It was fresh and tender. Then I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich. I grew up eating softshell crab at a little place on sugar loaf key. I have not been able to find a great softshell crab in more than forty years. Until today. It was perfect. So you may be asking why I gave thos place a 4, and not a 5. Atmosphere was great, the wait staff was very friendly, always refilling our drinks, and food that good? It was the wait. Our reservation was for noon. We were early. We were seated by noon. We ordered in about ten minutes. The appetizers came out in about 15 minutes. But it took more than hour after the appetizers, for our food to get to the table. And it did not all come out at the same time. And one at our party ordered all you can eat. That took 30 minutes after we ordered another round. We did not expect "fast food" service. But we were there for more than 2 hours for lunch. If it were not for the slow kitchen, they would have recieved a 5. I recommend Pecks for the food. I would just say at this time, do not be in a hurry. I will continue to read the reviews, to see if the kitchen time has improved before I try...
Read morethe bad: got in and got seated before a party of 98 kids showed up in two busses. got our (2 of us) drink order in before they did. they still got half their drinks before we (2 of us) did.
we placed our entire food order with our drinks, long before the large party even got their order taken. we were told to order before them, which we did. we were told repeatedly that our order was pushed ahead of theirs. drinks and salads came out within 15 minutes or so and we thought it was going to be fine.
our entrees never came out after another hour. I asked repeatedly about our food and was told repeatedly "it's almost out." After being there for an hour and a half with no meal, we decided to cut our losses and returned to the hotel some 40 minutes away, hungry and without dinner. just didn't want fast food.
I can tell you that the salad with blue cheese dressing was great. The way they managed our dining experience wasn't. They did succeed in making us feel unimportant and unwelcomed. They did comp our drinks and side salads but so what, we didn't drive all the way out there for those.
If you're a party of 98+ you expect to wait for service for a long time. If you're a party of 2, you do not, especially for those prices and that's too bad. After asking repeatedly about our food, the manager should have as promised, pushed our ticket, since we got seated and ordered long before the large party was even completely seated.
the good: everyone working there was very friendly. it was also obvious that the large party overwhelmed them and they lost control of the situation. it happens. the best part was the cheerful, strawberry blonde hostess that warned us about the no-see-ums and told us all about them with such enthusiasm. there was plenty of bad to remind us of this location and her cheerful enthusiasm and anecdotes were the only things good to...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying I am a server/bartender and I have never left a single bad review in my life.
Today I was super excited to surprise my stepmom with taking her out to a nice lunch. When we arrived to sit outside, there was only 1 table of 4, then the 2 of us. Awesome. The waitress was taking the 4 tops order when we walked in. They were served and finished, the table was cleared before we got our 1 order of drinks. Tara took 20 minutes to bring us water. We ordered an appetizer. Which came out before we got our drinks. Then ordered food, which by this time 2 or 3 other tables sat and had their food and drinks. Now, I understand mistakes happen. But there never even any acknowledgement of the poor service. A simple” hey sorry about the delay, working on it” would have made ALL the difference. Instead I had to flag her down repeatedly. We just watched and waited… and waited. My step mom ordered ten coconut shrimp, it was delicious! And a great lunch portion. Not once did our server stop to ask “how’s the food? “ or if we needed anything. I ordered the dinner portion ‘mates plate’-$25. It was truly a sad dish. I returned it for something else, to go. Never asked about my step moms. ATP I had my credit card out- ready to go. she just dropped the food, and went to the other tables . Again, im a server and if I’d messed up a guests first time experience That that badly I’d at least have the bill w/the food to help things along!
Again, we sat and waited….The bill was over $100. Honestly, unacceptable for such a poor dinning experience. Tara was incredibly rude, and so was the manager. As she said “ all I can say is sorry” while the server replied “there are cameras” GREAT! Please watch them! Horrible food and service. Thanks for making me feel like a burden because you are rude and...
