This restaurant is much more than the sad exterior proclaims! I visited with a coworker because it was the closest steakhouse to where we were working. If we didn't have a sense of adventure, we'd have never stayed and tried it.
The cold veggie plate, neither of us touched. It just didn't appeal to us, but I can't rate something I didn't try.
The dinner rolls were horrible (1/5). They were wheat rolls, slightly hard, not flavorful, and served with vegetable spread. I highly advise skipping them.
My appetizer was fried green tomatoes, which were served with ranch. They were pretty good (3/5), but I'm not a huge ranch fan. The breading was mostly corn meal, thus a bit harder and more dense than I prefer.
I had French onion soup rather than a salad, and it was actually quite good. One of my common complaints about most French onion soup is that it's too salty, but this was perfect. It was served with ample croutons, lots of gooey, stringy cheese and excellent onions (5/5).
My steak was the 12 oz ribeye, medium rare. This was a delicious, tender steak! While the flavor was really good, after tasting the first bite, I resorted to my personal norm of eating it with creamy horseradish and Worcestershire sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly and I could not have been more pleased (5/5)!
My side was the home style potatoes, which are saluted in butter, garlic, and onions. While these were actually quite good (4/5), after eating the steak, I couldn't take the richness of the butter and didn't eat a lot in general. Honestly, I was actually pretty full by this point.
Out waitress was great. If given the chance, I will absolutely look to eat here again! I'm glad we didn't judge this book...
Read moreThis restaurant is a very hometown restaurant where they're very hometown, with a hometown atmosphere. It's a hard place to find you don't even really know it's there unless you know it's there or someone tells you where it's at. Now as far as the dinner is concerned what an amazing dinner this place offers. They have some of the best steaks around and seasoned so perfectly and blended so well it is delicious. The cook came out, greeted the table, and wanted to know how everybody's meal was. We're there any complaints, how was the food, and type of thing. Great guy. He introduced himself as Shane. I suggest you definitely visit this place and be sure to ask Shane to make you a steak because the boy knows how to cook. Then another one of their back of the house workers came out to just greet us and say hello and welcome us. Her name was Allison. Another great employee.we had one of the best servers I think I've ever had in all my dining experience including five star restaurants. Her name was Nacomi and she was just amazing. She knew when we needed something and she was right on top of the table at all points of the evening. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and a nice little friendly establishment with the best steaks around. I say everyone should check that place out if they are ever...
Read moreWe went for my fiance's birthday and he still calls it his worst birthday ever. Firstly, my biggest problem was the 2.5 hour wait for our meals. This is not an exaggeration. No manager came out. No table touch. We weren't offered any apologies or reimbursement. My second problem was the passed cold plates of freezer burned carrots and odd assortments of pickled items that were handed out. Even after no one touched the first set of these complimentary "salads", they took those away and actually brought another one. My third issue: neither my fiance or mine's steak temperature were correct. Not even close. Mind you, this is the most expensive steakhouse in town. Lastly the blatant favoritism shown to the "somebody's" of the town. Waitress whispered behind a glass partition where this one works, who that one is related to and the size that one's bank account. All these tables were served first even if they had been sat long after us. I worked in restaurants for 10 years, I have no misgivings about what goes on in...
