Taco Time Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Florida

It seems like every restaurant is trying to nickel and dime you when you’re trying to support them nowadays. I don’t understand why they can’t include complimentary chips and salsa like they do inside for takeout. It’s there lowest overhead. I’m not going to spend extra money for chips and salsa when I’m still a guest at your restaurant and I’m spending the same money as sit down and tipping every time on Togo orders! I physically walked in the restaurant and ordered Togo, it’s no different than the sit down guest. You have people come sit down and get free chips and salsa that don’t tip your employees, but if I tip and ordered by means of Togo I don’t get chips and salsa? That does not make sense to me and I won’t be back. Maybe you should treat ALL of your guests the same. It should either be free for everyone or charged for everyone, not this or that. Were in Tavares on errands & needed a quick bite to eat. Ordered 2 tacos de birria (asada) & a torta de asada. Free chips & salsa (first two orders) while we waited, chips made fresh & salsa was fresh & refreshing. The agua frescas (we ordered horchata & jamaica) were freshly made in-house & delicious. You have the option to order birria in tacos, a quesadilla, or a burrito. The taste was savory & tortillas were crispy while saturated with flavor & melted cheese. The torta was also great. Highly recommend the medium avocado salsa with whatever you're ordering. Rice & beans were also fresh - the rice was probably the best we've had out to eat.

Well, it WAS nice. I've been going here several times...always amazing. Unfortunately, today I went in around 130..got the lunch special for 8.68..and decided to try the steak for my protein. Horrible! Tacos were cold..meat was dark and dried up..100% TASTELESS! I was starving and I did eat them. I mentioned as side note to waitress as I've always had great food. Just disappointed because I live in Sanford. So she brings the bill and said manager reduced my bill..I didn't ask for that. My total was 9.00? So idk what discount. Unfortunately, I won't drive there again. The only hot item was the rice. Lost me...
