Arrived with a group of 16. The restaurant had set aside three tables for us and that worked out quite well.
The service and general staff attitude were terrible. Those in our group who got their food seemed to enjoy it. More on this.
One of our tables ordered an appetizer with their main entrees. About 25 minutes or so later. the two tables without appetizers got their food, and the one table finally got their appetizer. The two tables actually finished eating and the other table was waiting on their main entrees. Our servers were no where to be found. Actually we could see them chatting up and laughing with other customers, but since we weren't "regulars" and sitting in a corner, we were mostly ignored
From everyone's observation, the servers seem more intent on keeping the regulars happy. I was never asked about drink refills or asked how my food was.
Back to the one table with the appetizer. They finally got someone's attention and inquired about their food. They were told since they ordered an appetizer, it would be a while before the entrees were put in. Huh?
Apparently someone checked on their food and some of it magically appeared a minute or so later. Sadly, it has most likely sat in the window for a good 10 minutes waiting for someone to pick it up as EVERY entree was cold.
One couple had ordered the prime rib, medium rare. It cam well done, not a trace of even pink in it, and cold. They sent it back and a few minutes later the same piece appeared, even more well done, but hot. I guess they chose to micro-wave it and try again. This couple got up and left.
Our table spent a good 20 minutes trying to get someone to send our server over so that we could get our bill. Maybe we should have stood up to leave and perhaps that would have gotten us better attention.
We will NOT be back. The food was okay, the service was so bad and unattentive, I wouldn't even call it service.
Maybe you will have better luck or if you are a regular, you probably get good service. First impressions were not very good...
Read moreOkay folks we decided to give the chubby mullet a try because when we looked at their picture it looks just like me when I wear bathing suit
The parking was really easy we sat outside and it was a beautiful view of the river very calm and relaxing
And to be real honest me and my wife to be the love of my life spent the last 30 minutes driving home trying to think of something nice to say and we can't sorry
The staff was obviously very understaffed very overwhelmed and very frustrated judging by their attitude
They were out of prime rib so we ordered the fisherman's platter I ordered mine grilled and Angel ordered hers fried I ordered hers fried
I don't know 15-20 minutes later we were told they were out of shrimp so they gave us clam chowder as a substitute
Long story short my mahi mahi I don't even think had salt and pepper on it when they cooked it was like a frozen patty they just tossed on a grill the french fries were still frozen on the inside and a fried mushrooms as an appetizer we're more like dough ball with a mushroom flavor
These are the pictures after we were leaving and for two fat people to leave this much food not a good sign
My two puppies Lily and Howie love shrimp and salmon and to be honest a lot of times we sneak their pills in the wet cat food cuz they love eating it they flat turned their nose up to my mahi mahi
I'm hoping this is just one of those things we caught him out of bad day to spring break you know the phase of the moon or something that was a lot of money for about what I would expect from Long John silver's sorry I couldn't be more positive...
Read moreIf you're looking for a low-key down to earth eatery, look no further than the Chubby Mullet. My wife and I came here this past Saturday to try it out and we were not disappointed.
Sherry was our bar keep and she was great, informative and accommodating. Started with an adult beverage and ordered their smoked fish dip. It was good and tasty which were complimented with very fresh tortilla chips seasoned with salt and pepper. The dip had an assortment of diced tomatoes, onions and pickled jalapenos. A perfect accompaniment with our adult beverages.
We then ordered the stuffed clams and these were fantastic. We got nine middlenecks, all of which were stuffed full of bacon and cheese. The clam meat itself was diced making for a tender and yummy bite. Again, went well with our beverages.
For dinner, we decided to share the fried coconut shrimp entree. The shrimp were gigantic, butterflied and fried to perfection. The sweet Thai chili sauce paired well with the shrimp. For our sides, we went with a house salad and house made chips. Both were good.
All in all, the food was honest, the ambiance was relaxing, the patrons were all friendly, and Sherry was the best. We will be definitely coming back again.
Highly recommend to anyone and everyone to give the Chubby Mullet a...
