Mother’s Day 2025, reservations were made for 4p and we arrived 20 minutes early - the booth for our party of 3 was ready and available. Lots of folks occupied the large numbers of tables and booths inside and there’s even bar seating if that’s more your style. And there’s a new tiki hut bar area outside too! The restaurant’s atmosphere, both as you enter the restaurant and once inside is totally cute and cool, the restaurant is super clean. Our server was welcoming and very attentive the entire time we were there. We ordered appetizers - the fish dip and the fried mushrooms which were both fresh and delicious! Iced tea was sweet and cold - just the way we love it! Our grandson ordered the filet which was cooked perfectly (medium rare), the accompanying sides of fries and hush puppies were hot and good he said. The Caesar salad that came with his dinner was also fresh and plentiful! Hubby ordered the fried catfish platter which he loved, I got the blackened shrimp platter. Both platters included salads and two sides (we chose sweet potatoes fries and hubby had the fried okra which he loved, I got onion rings which were just “okay”, the batter on the rings was thick and chunky if you like yours cooked that way). Our drink glasses were never empty, all of our food was fresh, hot and delicious, and the overall atmosphere was fun and welcoming - the prices were perfect for all the food and drinks we were served and we brought home leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We passed on dessert, we were simply full. To top this all off, the very gracious owner came by our table to check on things. She genuinely cared, which is rare these days. This is not fast food - this is a sit down, make yourself comfortable dining experience in a quaint, old Florida style restaurant environment. Crooked Bass serves delicious steaks, seafood of both fresh and salt water varieties, wings, sandwiches lid so much more - they have it all, truly there’s something for everyone! If you’ve not been, do yourself a favor and visit Crooked Bass in Babson Park - GPS will take you right to their large...

Read moreEdit from last night review. It is now 11:30am on 10/21/22 and I have a wretched case of food poisoning. I feel like death atm ughhh.
Ok, so this is a reposting with an updated review. Personally I really like the crooked bass, but after all I do promise honest reviews. So sadly.....here goes :( Service wise we felt basically abandoned for the evening (8/20/2022). It took an hr on the button to get the 1st plates to the table (salads) and almost an hr and a half in I had to go to the bar to get a beer and a water for my kid. Very slow and like I said, we felt left out. The crab stack should be renamed the red onion stack. The crab is actually a thin layer in the middle. But the red onions? Piiiiled way high (see photos). The pita chips looked burned, and it later became known it was most likely due to old, dirty grease. Please dump that stuff and put a fresh block of lard in there. I ordered the pick three basket of oysters, scallops, and flounder. The oysters and flounder were ok, but the scallops seemed soaked with grease and under cooked. Please see photos. Lastly when I took the oysters and scallops off I found a literal pile of old breading bits on the flounder (again see pics). Again I really don't like posting anything bad about this place, because I do generally like going here. But we did travel to Babson Park from Sebring, and ended up disappointed on this...
