The Gator Shack — Restaurant in Florida

My sister and I met up there to celebrate our Christmas together. My sister lives in Sebring and I live in Port St Lucie. My sister has eaten there before for many years, first time I was there. To start I got the eggnog Martini they advertised. It was yummy- nice presentation I love the wafer stick- order it with the whipped vanilla vodka! We had the Mushroom and Fish Bites appetizers- delicious! I then had a chocolate martini that was great as well! Our waitress was Bailey and she was wonderful- we even moved out to the patio- I know it's a pain when people move from tables as I'm a server myself- but she was great with it and even offered to help move our stuff. Bailey's shift was ending and we were still there and we had the next server whose name was Bailey as well. Two Bailey's how fun- must be a real blast when they're both on the same shift! Anyway, we ordered dinner and more drinks with the second Bailey. My sister had the Fish dinner and I had the Ribeye 12oz.dinner- our sides were the mac and cheese oh so yummy my sister got coleslaw and I got the hand cut fries and we both had salad. I was surprised it came with salad after two sides- most places don't - salad is always extra- nice- good value. Everything was very tasty.Before we ordered dinner we met the lunch chef and his sidekick- sorry guys forgot your names! We had some questions about the food and they answered it all - fun guys. We had an excellent time!!! The only thing I can say is I'm a Wine Drinker-it would be nice to have some decent Wines By The Glass- where I work we serve Sycamore Lane as the house wine and I hate it- sorry I drank for taste! They do offer nicer wines -Oyster Bay, but it's only by the bottle. Well of course be dropping by again sometime down the road. I would give this 25 Stars it I could! This is the finest Hidden Gem of all the Hidden Gem restaurants I have reviewed. If you've read my reviews before, you know that I fly all over the world with business and I review restaurants while there. I have eaten at many of the world's finest steakhouses. The finest two or three in Dallas, the finest in Albuquerque, the finest in Vegas and Los Angeles, the finest in New York, Omaha. Berns and Okeechobee in Florida, supposedly the number one and two there. I've also eaten the finest steaks supposedly in Sydney, Australia, Brisbane, Melbourne, Seoul, South Korea and in Tokyo, Japan. I am telling you that not a single one is even close to the steak I had at the Gator Shack. Not representative of its name at all, the Gator Shack is located in the heart of cattle country in Florida. This is not a white cloth Steakhouse. This is just the finest steak you will ever eat. They will wheel a cart around full of the most beautiful cuts and sizes of ribeyes, strips and filets. Your choice of steak and get ready for heaven in your mouth. I have easily paid over $100 for a steak of lesser quality. My 10 ounce Filet was only $45 bucks with a choice two perfectly prepared sides. My buddy had a 18oz ribeye the melted in your mouth. We warmed up on a round of fried Gator Tail add Fried Pickles. Again, this is not a fancy white cloth restaurant. This is just a Southern food and steaks cooked to perfection. I would easily drive 2.5 hours one way just to have a steak here. If you are in Orlando, to Daytona, to Tampa, to Fort Lauderdale, anywhere in that zone, make the drive to The Gator Shack. 25/10 must go here! 10/10 isn't...

I have to preface this review by saying I’m not from the area or Florida at all. North Dakota, in fact. I have been down here for an entire week. We have eaten at many places and every single one of them have been delicious, don’t get me wrong, but Gator Shack, Gator Shack takes the cake.

We visited the Sebring Chamber of Commerce store front thingy and we asked the gal working where her favorite local spot is to go and she recommended Gator Shack. We can see why.

The atmosphere is incredible. If you’re looking for fancy and uppity- don’t go here. If you’re in a hurry this also isn’t the place for you. If you are looking for a low-key place with the most INCREDIBLE food, then this is YOUR place. Gator Shack gets busy, that’s for sure. Are they the fastest service? No, because they’re busy and good quality - good quality food is worth the wait. Service is also fantastic. Our waitress, Kaylee, was thorough and on top of things. Everyone is really friendly too. Every single thing we ordered exceeded our expectations.

**Editing because I forgot to include the food that is a must try: lobster bites, if they have them. They’re in bang bang shrimp and so dang good. The onion rings are delicious. Fridays and Saturday nights they have a steak cart. All food we ordered was cooked perfectly and was so delicious. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on their menu, honestly.
