Great Mother’s Day brunch We drove to Cauley Square for a Mother’s Day brunch. The Tea Room had an hour and a half wait! Village Chalet had no wait. They sat us immediately. We sat outside. There was a nice breeze and they had fans blowing on the patio. There were peacocks walking around and squawking. The gardens are beautiful! The menu has a nice selection. We chose the calamari for an appetizer. Before bringing the calamari, they brought out a complimentary salad and garlic bread. Everyone loved the garlic bread. I ate most of the salad. It had a nice raspberry vinaigrette on the side. The calamari was really good! Very tender. The dipping sauce was unique but delicious! For my lunch I ordered the sea bass. It came with 2 sides. I had the sautéed spinach and the tostones. Everything was really good! I finished the spinach and ate about half of the sea bass and tostones. The sea bass was served in a delicious lemon butter sauce. My husband and youngest daughter ordered the Bogleñese. They both loved it. There was a lot, so they both took about half of it home. My older daughter ordered the caprése sandwich with fries. She said it was really good. She also had a lot leftover. My girls both had sodas. Altogether it was about $100. Not bad for a delicious lunch, appetizer and 2 drinks. The service was very good. I really liked our waitress. We look forward to returning soon.

LOVED IT!!!!! The food was amazing! With that being said, I would add that just preparing and serving food is the job of the restaurant but this food was made with a homemade quality that we left wanting seconds, really! We actually took home an extra salad for dinner because it complemented the leftover pasta so well. They made a raspberry vinaigrette that was beautiful. They served water in glass giblets and left a beautiful tin pitcher of ice water on the table for refills. I didn't meet the owner to complement them on the high quality standards they have set here but if our server was any indication of what a joy it is to work for them, we definitely felt it in the service and presentation. I ordered a viejas ropas sandwich which reminded me of a machaca Mexican meat which came with a choice of fries ( I selected spicy) and my wife ordered penne pasta Bolognese which was ample and very tasty. I would challenge anyone to find a better meal, with nicer ambiance and excellent service anywhere in the Miami area. LOVED IT!!!

The food was spectacular and the service equally. Don’t expect to be served immediately it’s an actual restaurant with real good food to be enjoyed not a fast food joint. They are not slow either but a slower place than what most are used to. It was my first time and it won’t be my last. Worth every dime. Their sauces are made fresh here and always have fish or literally catch of the day. I had the sea bass and oh dang it was great. Can’t wait to come back. Ambiance was chill, we sat outside so even better. Waitress (Monique) and cooks have great attitude.

TLDR: Average food, friendly service, but poor value for what you pay. Consider supporting small business.

I visited this restaurant on Mother's Day with a party of four, spending a total of $250. We ordered an appetizer, four mimosas, and four entrees, which included bread and salad. Initially, it seemed like good value at an estimated $62 per person for a special occasion. However, the quality of the food fell short, resembling home-cooked or store-bought meals that were poorly plated.

Let's start with the appetizer. We paid $20 for a platter of five mozzarella sticks and five coconut shrimp. While I would happily pay that amount for homemade versions, it was evident that these were store-bought items.

Hoping the entrees would redeem the experience, we ordered a chicken marsala, two breaded fish dishes, and a churrasco steak. Living in Miami, I've had amazing fish and churrasco at local small places. However, here we received soggy fish and a disappointingly mediocre steak, despite the steep $30 price tag per dish.

The exorbitant prices at this establishment can be attributed to its location in Cauley Square. While the surrounding environment is beautiful, the inflated prices (possibly due to high rent) can only compensate so much.

To make matters worse, there was an additional cover fee per person for a Spotify DJ, and we were forced to select a minimum 18% tip option on their Square POS system.

Now, after observing all these shortcomings, you might be inclined to avoid this place. However, it's worth mentioning that the staff appeared to be a family doing their best to stay afloat. From reading previous reviews, it seems that this restaurant may have been more authentic in the past. Unfortunately, many restaurants today have to cut corners to survive, and it's disheartening to see this reflected in a once-reliable Homestead staple.

If you're seeking a fantastic meal, I recommend visiting Tea Room, which is located less than 100 ft away. However, if you're feeling adventurous, I encourage you to visit this restaurant on a less busy day (as they don't normally take reservations) and witness a family striving to make their dream work.

Overall, while my experience here left much to be desired, I believe it's important to support small businesses. Give it a try if you're in the area and want to support local entrepreneurs, but manage your expectations...
