Waffle House — Restaurant in Florida

We eat at Waffle House a lot in Mary Esther. Today my granddaughter and I decided we'd stop for breakfast, and I ordered the Superstar special, she ordered some other things. I asked for grits instead of hash browns and they brought me grits with cheese and my food just the way I wanted it. I went to bite into the grits and they were lumpy they were crunchy they were not good at all. So I asked the waitress I said when were these grits cooked, and she turn around and ask the cook, and he said within the last 12 hours. I says well they're not good. She offered me Tomatoes, hash browns, I didn't really want that I wanted the Grits but they were not edible. So I told her never mind. So when I got ready to leave I had mentioned to the waitress how grits setting for 12 hours cannot be good, and she stated back to me that the Waffle House, has certain criteria when they're supposed to cook certain things. I thought that was terrible, because I liked Waffle House cuz you got fresh food. So I'm going to check into this cuz I happen to know a Waffle House Executive retired now that I happen to know him and I'm going to ask him about this. I want fresh food I don't want something that's been sitting there for 12 hours thank you...

Togo order was fast, everything was correct bagged with ticket ready. Haven't yet ate it however im sure everything is going to good. This trip was pleasant, cook went over his expectations by not only answering the phone as his co worker was outside at the moment he also with out a problem took my order over the phone, and was going to proceed with stopping what he was doing whenever I walked into the restaurant after learning that I was there to pick up a togo order, he was going to hand the bag to me. No all cooks are willing to do the extra work to help others especially on real slow shifts. He was a nice,&respectful individual. Happy with customer service provided he provided. As to the other one on shift, she wasn't rude or a bad server im sure, she must have been on break and just getting back in maybe when i arrived, she just didn't seem to try an put an effort into making sure I was satisfied or if I needed/or wanted anything els. She did have my ticket ready for my arrival and was polite, just said very few words checked me out and then continued with sitting at her table doing what it was before i got there. Overall it was a good stop with no regrets this time. Tuesday January...

We are not from the area and never been to a Waffle House. We’ve seen them everywhere in the state so my husband was excited to try.

The place was crowded, tables not cleaned and we just stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge us. We ended up walking to a dirty table and someone finally came to clean it.

Long story short, this place is like a Steak n’ Shake for breakfast- except they have much better food.

It’s a little pricey for what you get too...

Customer service was terrible. Our waitress maybe said 4 words to us the whole time. We had my 2 year old daughter sitting in a highchair, as she was holding our coffee cups walking to the table - she was spilling it all over the place! She didn’t even notice or apologize. I had to quickly move my hand to cover her just incase it spilled on her. She also just threw our bill on the table and didn’t say a word.

I would have rather gone to McDonalds.

Do not expect good service, a great breakfast for clean environment here. For $35-$40 you can get a better meal somewhere else. This place seems perfect for 2am drunk nights and I’d still...
