I walked into Wawa with severe ankle pain, intending to purchase a drink, food, and Aleve. I had never been in a Wawa before, so I wasn’t fully aware of the process for ordering food. After placing my order at the kiosk, I sat briefly on the edge of a cooler to take pressure off my ankle.
This is where Damon, an employee, decided to demonstrate what poor customer service looks like. Instead of showing even an ounce of empathy toward a customer clearly in pain, he approached me in the most condescending and hostile manner possible. His exact words were, “Sir, you need to get off that right now,” in a snobby, dismissive tone. When I calmly explained I was only resting my ankle and would move if someone needed access, he escalated, saying “I’m not doing this right now, get off my cooler or leave.”
When I mentioned my order, he mocked me for not knowing Wawa’s payment-first policy, saying “you haven’t even paid for your food so why would I make it, go pay for your food dude.”
From there, Damon spiraled into a power trip: threatening to trespass me, refusing to let me pay for the items I had already opened, and ultimately telling me to leave or he’d call the police. Imagine that—being banned from a convenience store for the crime of briefly sitting down with an injured ankle.
Damon isn’t just a rude employee—he’s a liability to Wawa’s reputation. He demonstrated zero customer service skills, no knowledge of how to de-escalate a situation, and an alarming eagerness to humiliate a paying customer. If Wawa considers this acceptable behavior, then it speaks volumes about their standards.
What could have been a five-minute, $20 visit for food and medicine turned into a public embarrassment thanks to one employee’s complete lack of empathy, respect, and basic professionalism. Damon didn’t just cost Wawa a sale—he cost them a customer at this...
Read moreHad the best veggie sub here Ty. So rare special, since most skimp on veggies. Wawa is the best 24 hour coffee place. Free coffee on Tuesday’s. I don’t like the machines at circle k racetrack. Wawa always has at least 3 people working at all time so it’s not empty abandoned. Went out of my way just to come here. It was worth it Ty.
When I’m traveling and tired, I’ll always stay near or at a Wawa. I’m excited to have an electric solar car cause when it’s dead I’ll come here charge up everything and take a nap. Wake up and get great coffee. It’ll be sweet when all parking lots are solar panels, as in shade and free energy.
I’d love to see all age playgrounds required at any road stop or shopping center, since it’s not about money but community health wellness and children happy, which is everyone.
I’m excited that the apocalypse is expanding peoples focus to be on what matters, and of course that’s only skateboard tricks and exploring new spots/ parks etc. All wars strife and poverty are because people forgot this...
Read moreOrdered late night door dash seeing as we’re visiting from out of town, a hoagie, mac n cheese, bottled water and 4 sweet treats. Bag came sealed so I don’t believe the driver stole anything, but 2 items were missing, cupcakes and apple pie. If they were out of stock, you should have just refunded them. Because you didn’t, and sealed the bag, I’ve just spent 20 minutes going back and forth with door dash because they didn’t want to refund me my 2 missing items, it took for me to escalate it to a supervisor to get my money back. A lot of hassle for some late night snacks. To top it off, the hoagie pales in comparison to our local Wawa back home where we order from 3+ times a week. This one didn’t taste as fresh and was tiny compared to the giant ones were used to. Overall a disappointing experience. Plz train your employees better on fulfilling delivery orders and how to mark out of stock items so that others don’t have to go through the same...
