If you are a fan of Mediterranean cuisine, look no further than Zeus in Flowood, MS, right across from River Oaks Hospital and QT gas station. We first visited this establishment out of curiosity and had a grilled cheese (feta grilled cheese is officially my favorite type now) and the flavor was out of this world! We were curious about the Zeuss fries and while the fries themselves are jam packed with flavor, you cannot go wrong with the special sauce the put on their specialty fries, plus it is topped with feta cheese as well, and we all know feta is betta!!! We went today after a doctor's appointment and tried the lamb and chicken combo plate that came with a feta salad, rice, and hummus. If it were up to me, I would have ordered a quart of the hummus to take home because it is that delicious, and this was just the basic flavor. There were some pickled onions with the meat with some type of seasoning on it as well that put me in food heaven! My husband is not a huge fan of onions, but even he couldn't resist fighting me for the last few pieces. Not only is the food phenomenal, but they are the perfect example of exemplary customer service. The staff is always welcoming, but it doesn't stop there. They are easy to talk to and is constantly making sure you are taken care of. This is a family friendly environment, and a quiet little place as well if you have children with sensory needs. 10/10 will go again...
Read moreHmm wasn't what I expected. It definitely wasn't bad. It was just ok. I had they gyro plate, and I customized it a bit , so it may be just me, but it was just meat and rice, nothing to special. A lot of the other options looked good, but I wished their was more things on my plate. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the lamb and beef was made mixed together. Now this is my first time having Mediterranean food, so it's possible that that's how it's suppose to me, but coming form an African back ground where we eat a lot of meats and rice, it was just okay. I wish there was more in the rice (vegetables, protein, etc.) However, I'm willing to try it again. I saw some other people's plates and I wan to try their gyro , salad, and cake. I would definitely say it's worth a try. If you're unsure I'd say go with a friend, and half it if you're able to. To sum up, it wasn't bad , and it was leaning more towards good, it was just nothing special. The prices were a ok considering the area, and the fact that it's Mediterranean food. Also, the food looks a bit different from the website because it's in to go boxes, and...
Read moreVery good gyro and gyro salad. Service was efficient and friendly. The inside could be updated and shown some TLC and decorative items added. The bathroom floors were sticky. The water in this municipality is awful. The ice in this restaurant had a smell-taste to it. It smell-tasted like a "clean" open sewer, if you can imagine such a thing. It was terrible. I thought it had to do with the cleanliness of the restaurant and ice machine and it's a good thing I wasn't able to post a review right away or I would've assumed it was the fault of management but I checked into a hotel later the same night and when I was brushing my teeth, flushing the toilet, and washing my hands, the same smell was in the air and in my mouth when I rinsed the toothpaste out of my mouth. The water in Flowood needs to be treated or needs some additives to make it taste and smell better. It is...
