My family and I decided to give this place a try while vacationing on Folly Beach. The reviews were mostly good on Google, and we were in the mood to have quality seafood close to where we were staying. We wanted to go somewhere we’ve never been before. This restaurant is supposed to serve “fresh” and quality seafood. I ordered the ‘Crab Boil’ for $40 which included 2 clusters of snow crab legs, boiled red potatoes, corn on the cob, and andouille sausage. My husband ordered the ‘Fried Feast’ for $26 which included fried shrimp, oysters, scallops, and flounder with fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. And our son ordered the kid’s shrimp with fries and a drink. We also ordered a crab dip appetizer for $10. When our food was served, to say we were disappointed is an understatement. My husband’s “feast” was so small. Only a few of each seafood item. He said it was “home quality” seafood, definitely not fresh or even good. They don’t season their food, and in our opinion, it’s just disgusting. My crab legs were SO small and SO skinny, definitely not worth the money for a few bites of crab meat. It came with 4 red potatoes, which weren’t cooked thoroughly. They were very hard and I couldn’t cut them in half. The corn and potatoes were unseasoned, only boiled in water then put on the plate- EW. I asked for different potatoes since they weren’t cooked, and our waitress said she would get some brought out for me. We didn’t see her or any other wait staff the entire time it took for us to eat our food. Maybe 25 minutes? No drink refills whatsoever the entire time. The staff was hidden in the back of the restaurant somewhere past the “staff only, do not enter” area. We finished our meal, and sat while we waited for our waitress. I heard her call back to what I’m assuming would be the kitchen- “Did you ever get those potatoes in?” And then she turns the corner with a plate of potatoes. I told her politely that I was already finished with my meal, and if she could just remove the price of the red potatoes from my meal, which they DO offer as a side. She was very rude and said she didn’t know, she would ask someone. She left, and I heard the staff talking amongst each other, making complaints. She came back with the check and walked away without saying a word. She didn’t remove anything or give any type of discount for the potatoes or any explanation on what could be done. When she returned, I asked about it, and she said she removed a $2.75 drink from our bill. In a rude tone, almost like she did us a favor? Not a good dining experience and horrible customer service. We decided to pay for the food and leave, as we didn’t want the experience to ruin our day at the beach. She didn’t remove what she said she did. We were charged for all of our drinks, nothing was removed, and all we got was attitude and low quality, unseasoned, and definitely not fresh seafood for the total bill price of $93. Save your money, drive not even a mile more in to Folly to the Crab Shack, which by the way is DELICIOUS, with way better customer service plus friendly staff. We should’ve stuck with somewhere we know is good! We won’t be back. DON’T GIVE THIS...

A signature standout on the menu is their "New Orleans" dish, an homage to the Bayou State's culinary tradition. This plate embodies the best of Southern cuisine: plump shrimp, succulent crawfish, and smoky Andouille sausage combined with bell peppers and onions. These elements simmer together in a Cajun cream sauce that is undeniably divine, served atop a crispy fried grit cake. The flavors of this dish dance together in a vibrant harmony that is pure Cajun joy. It's comfort food at its finest, and a testament to the kitchen's prowess.
Their street corn is another must-try. Grilled to perfection, slathered with a tangy sauce, and sprinkled with cojita cheese, this is no ordinary side dish. It's a delightful elevation of a simple ingredient into a star of its own.
The hushpuppies with honey butter are a flavor revelation. These golden, crispy bites paired with sweet, creamy honey butter are an addictive starter that you'll find yourself craving long after you've left the restaurant.
And let's not forget their homemade She Crab Soup. The rich, creamy broth is filled with tender crab meat and subtle spices, making it a perfect showcase of traditional Southern flavors. It's a comforting bowl that makes you feel at home, no matter where you come from.
The staff at LoLo's contributes significantly to the restaurant's charm. Their warm Southern hospitality is infectious, adding an extra layer of comfort to your dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you're not just a customer, but a part of the LoLo's family.
In conclusion, LoLo's offers an authentic and exquisite Southern dining experience. The combination of mouthwatering food, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service make it a must-visit in Charleston. LoLo's has earned a resounding five stars in my book and stands as a culinary beacon in the bustling...
Read more5+⭐ ALL AROUND! I can't tell you how many times we've passed Lolo's and said "We should really try that place!" Decided to stop in on a Friday night at the suggestion of Mike. The sun was just starting to set so we took an outdoor seat with a sunset view. It. Was. Perfect! Nancy was our server and made us feel right at home! The kids felt comfortable ordering on their own and she spoke to them instead of ignoring or looking at us (we appreciate this!!) 🍲 We tried a cup of the She Crab soup, and this was our first time! Hubby enjoyed it, but I'm not sure I'm a fan. Of course, it might just be that I enjoy soup more when it's colder outside. 🍽️ The 5yo requested a hotdog with hush puppies and there wasn't even a question at the request! ♥️ The hotdog actually looked really good, which I wasn't expecting! 🤣 🍽️ The 3yo asked for "plain shrimp" (broiled) with fries. Again, no issue! He ate every last shrimp, so they were a hit! Usually he'll do that and just eat the fries, so that's when we know it's good! 🍽️I had the shrimp burger and I don't know what I was expecting, but this was similar to a crab cake but shrimp. I really liked it! The dill sauce took it to the next level! 🍽️ Hubby had the grouper special for the day. It was a an herb crested grouper over a bed of wild rice with shredded brussel sprouts, mushrooms, pecans, onion and bacon. Plenty of flavor and also fairly white overall. His entire plate was cleaned. 🤣
We got to watch the sun go down while we enjoyed our food and knew that we had made the right choice!
Nancy gave the kids little cups of whipped cream when she delivered the check (our son's birthday is this weekend), so that was a sweet little bonus! We look forward to...
